SCAM. I also got the security text that said I needed to update my security info. It's not Verizon.
Me and both of my sons received text messages from this number yes****ay (all on same plan) saying my payment was under review. When you click on the link, the first thing they ask for is your phone number. Definitely a scam.
I received a text saying it was from Verizon and I needed to update very important security information. I called Verizon and they said it definitely was not them. I sent them a copy of the link that they wanted me to click on. Just as a side note if you wanted to forward that message screen**** it and forward it because if you try the forward feature it will send you to a download page which I backed out of before it had a chance to hook me totally up.
Message said it was Verizon for mandatory security update....
I also got the "mandatory security update" text - no way is this legit.
I received a text message today ' VZW SECURITY: Auto-pay has been disabled for security reasons, please validate ownership here: swirls.updatever2016.us/restore/?id=0012401********' The X's represent my phone number. Must be spam because I don't use auto pay.
This number texted my phone and said they were Verizon. Reported to Verizon. They are Checking it.
