He sent picture of his ID - name and face matched a seemingly legit Facebook profile of a youth Pastor from Texas. He said he was on his way with the fridge but never showed.
craiglist frig for $400. said would deliver but wanted half money up front.
Had a great deal on a cl couch. Seemed to good to be true search number and says scammer. Makes sense now
Selling a refrigerator on CL (Craigslist) that he didn't ever own. He wanted me to deposit half of the money into his account via a QR code before he would deliver.
"Selling" refrigerator on Craig's List for $400. He ("Phillip") was willing to deliver and set up for $35. Being a single mother with no way of moving a refrigerator, I happily agreed to the deal. He asked for my address and said he would deliver between 7pm and 8pm that same day. Once I sent my address he asked me to send half the money up front. He was even willing to text me a pic of his Tx driver's license to prove he was legit. He said I could deposit the money straight into "his ATM" and explained, "It's very easy. Literally walk up to it, scan my QR code and insert money. It'll even verify and confirm everything showing my name." No doubt his guy has scammed MANY people.
Scamming on Craigslist. Seemed legit, Chatted for a while until they ask for money to be sent.
Texted about a washer and dryer. He wanted money through Coinbase or Cash App for a deposit. I refused but showed up at the address he gave later that day and they didn’t know the person.
