I am on Pennsylvania's DO NO CALL list for my home and cell phone. Companies are to check this list BEFORE randomly calling PA households. The Attorney General of Pennsylvania will prosecute companies that abuse this list and continue to harass a household that HAS NOT REQUESTED a company contact them.

so if they do not leave messages for households, when they realize this why don't they take your number out of their system, I have been called more than enough times by these people and have asked to have my number removed from their calling list but I quess they have not done this

My husband and I are getting odd phone numbers and they don't say who they are or they say that they are with Bell offering a deal on services, I have a bill with Bell so why would they offer any discounted cells or services.

@M Power: The DO NOT CALL LIST is for telemarketers, not MARKET RESEARCHERS. The people who call you from 514-288-0420 are MARKET RESEARCHERS. There is no DO NOT CALL LIST for MARKET RESEARCHERS. They are allowed to call anyone in Canada from 9AM to 9PM. It is not a telemarketing office. It is a Market Research call center in downtown Montreal. The next time they call you, tell them to REMOVE YOUR NUMBER FROM THE LIST and DO NOT CALL AGAIN.

It is a Market Research company which conducts surveys over the phone. Market Research firms are allowed to call anyone from 9AM to 9PM. This company calls fortune 500 companies/doctors/lawyers etc.. They only leave messages for business calling. Some businesses, depending on the study, have the opportunity to call back at a 1-800 number to do the survey. They do not leave messages for households.

Called them back and got a recorded French/Englis message. They appear to be a "Survey" type of company. If you answer and wait a minute, someone will come on the line and give you a spiel about asking for your opinion on things. (Radio, politics, TV etc). You have to give them a moment or two for the auto-dialer to connect to a live person. After that you can tell them to take you off their calling list.

Someone picked it up and I requested her to remove me from the list. She said no problem.Let's see. If they don't do what they are supposed to do, I'll call their 800 number the whole bunch of time.

They called my home phone on 4/03/09 and hung up. Called again on 4/05/09 and I answered but they hung up again. I hate those computer dialers they use. Since the number is from Canada and I'm in California, USA not going to make a long distance call just to tell them to put me on their DNC list. My number is on the Federal DNC list already but they're in Canada so it does not apply to them. I never participate in surveys so it's an annoyance. Maybe we should just start taking the calls and giving them false answers so the surveys will become useless to the corporations which pay to have them disturb us.

The caller phoned twice this morn. The second time upon answering (didn't recognise the phone number), the caller identified themselves when asked, as "GLoria White" but didn't say on whose behalf she was calling. No one in our household knows anyone named Gloria White - especially in Montreal.

They call at all hours and never respond when I answer the phone. I called the number back and followed the audio prompt to speak with a supervisor but no one ever answered. I figured it may be some scam to get people to call back ans stay on the phone, running up a bill so I hung up. Imagine how many people do not have caller ID and have no idea who is calling and hanging up on them.
