Leave a CommentI just called this number back. When they answered they were National Geographic video and DVD group I responded that she was calling from an Iowa phone number and National Geographic has no offices in Iowa and she didn't even try to counter that, I said I was on the Do Not Call list.and would she please take me off her list. She said she would. We shall see. As Nancy said below, these folks are obviously NOT from National Geographic so don't blame National Geo.
I called them back and had them remove my number.....we shall see
There is no reason for National Geographic to call my home so this must be spam. SPAMMERS SUX ?

Iowa 1-515-248-7685 is National Geographic telemarketers calling every day, sometimes up to 5 times a day. It's annoying and they will not stop. I've complained and nothing is being done about it.

Calls every day usually in early to mid morning Sometimes in the evening 5:00, 7:00, and 8:00 pm
Annoying calls from this number. Don't answer and no message is left on ma****e.
This is a collection agency. They are in violation of the law. I am not the person they want to collect from and they continue to call. I am filing a***nst them. They are also discriminatory to the *** Community. Supervisors Alex Freedman and Joe Santana

It's National Geographic. They call daily. :-(
stop calling
I wish I only got calls from this number 7 or 8 times a week! They have been calling every 40 minutes of every day for the past 2 weeks! That's just rude!
Yep, this is totally annoying. But---I WORK at National Geographic and this number calls me. We don't even have an office in Iowa, so it's a total fake. It's not NGS, so filing complaints a***nst us won't work. Cheers.
Calls and calls, no answer, dead air when I answer
Constant calls from this number early and late
Natl. Geographic 515 248-7685 has called 7 or 8 times in the last week never leaves a message and if you call that number you get dead air. My phone has been on the donot call list for years, don't seem to stop these telemarketers from calling.
National Geographic Society indicates there may be unauthorized 3rd party marketers selling subscriptions in their name... not kosher.Dan
Calls daily 2-3 times. Our answering ma****e picks up...open line then a ****up. I did a *69 to find out the number
The same number has been calling me almost every day. I filed the complaint with FCC on donotcall.gov. Guess it takes time for a complaint to process then because this number keeps calling EVERYDAY and not bother to leave a message!
I have been getting these calls too. I called National Geographic directly and they say tell me it is not actually them calling me and that I need to file a complaint a***nst the phone number. This is not a phone number of theirs and it is basically a phishing scam! Do not give these people your information.
I filed the complaint at the donotcall.gov. Guess what? The site said because the line was registered on 1/6/2008, the line has 30 days to call people around even though my phone line has been registered to the "do-not-call list" since 2004.
NATL GEOGRAPHIC AKA SPAMALOThas been calling me 2 to 3 times a day, every day for the past 3 months, although my number is registered with the gov under DO NOT CALL LIST.REPORT THEM TO: www.donotcall.govThere are stiff fines.
Continually calls, all hours.
continuous call-all hours
If you do any business with National Geographic (subscribe to magazine, buy books, buy Christmas cards) then they can call you even if you're on the no call list. The only way to stop the calls if to contact the business specifically and ask that your phone number be removed form their telemarketing lists. They have to do this or they can get in trouble with the FCC.
I get these calls almost every day and I usually call back and get "dead air". Today I was lucky: National Geographic, calling from De Moinse, Iowa. It's a land line and Qwuest Corporation is the phone provider. When I told them I want to be taken off their list, they asked for my name, which I would not give them (especially since I have an unpublished phone number). Usually, all you need to give whomever is calling you is the phone number they are calling in order to be removed from their calling list. In any event, I filed a Complaint on the national (government run) "Do Not Call" registry. This is the SECOND complaint I've filed a***nst National Geographic in the past 12 months.
They called me at least twice and didn't leave a message.
I don't know who this is. They just keep calling everyday, several times a day.
