Leave a CommentActually got 3 TEXT messages but do not have nor did I ever had an account at Central Pacific Bank. This is definitely a scam. Hopefully CPB will inform its customers about his and get them to check their accounts (off-line).
ITS A SCAM!
I received 3 texts this morning with a similar id: CentralPacificBan.k Please Call 515 309 6975. I actually have an account and a mastercard at Central Pacific Bank. I called the number and heard a computer voice message. "We regret to inform you that your mastercard has been locked...Press 1 to unlock..... Please enter your 16 digit......" I stopped there. I went to the bank ma****e and found that my card was not locked. Everything seemed to work fine. I went inside the bank and asked to see all the activity on my account. Nothing seemed unusual. It seems that this is crude phishing attack. Not everyone has an account at CPB. And not everyone will have a mastercard account at CPB, but the scammers can send these messages to thousands, if not millions. And even a small fraction of positive returns means profit for the scammers. ICaller: scammers
I got 2 texts and one call. texts stated they were from Central Pacific bank. The phone call was a recording stating they were central pacific bank and my credit card had been stolen. Press one to be transferred to a security specialist. Did not press one.
