I got a call from this number today, called the number and told them not to text me on their voice mail.   I wonder what, why, who?   Should I report it to the police?

This person keeps texting me and I've asked how they got my # and they state a place local to me that I've never been to.  This is so annoying and it's freaking me out!  I wonder if they have a way to hack into my cell phone when I text back and get all my contacts or so****ing???
