I got a call today from this number. After seeing who was calling I just let it ring, it rang 3 times and without leaving a message, the caller ***g up. After I received this call I looked it up only to discover what I suspected, it was a scam.

Yea they called us and my mom thought they were calling to tell us someone died. i got a book out and looked up the area code and it from long island and we're about 8 hrs away so she calmed down. Thank god i had that book.

I got one of these calls today... The phone rang 3 x and I didnt answer. No message was left but then I looked up the number and bamn here are all your comments... I went to Donotcallregistry and registered my number it will take 31 days it say to be completely registered. These *******s better not be scheming.. I have dogs.... enough said!

Got a call from this # today - after a pause, a guy said so****ing like, "Is the lady of the house there?" He was kind of broken up.  I asked, "Pardon?" then he ***g up.  Caller ID said FRAT ORD POLICE.

got a call, no message. so whomever they are, they are not realistic  FOP, does not scare me, because any organization like this would not call to solicit donations or anything. these people are scammers using whatever name they find to make it look real. they should be ***g up by their buster browns and arrested. thats all i have to say. I work for the feds, so I know.

Got a call from them today but my teenager answered the phone without checking caller ID which did state FOP. Yelled at my kid for answering the phone and I'm so sick and tired of telemarketers!

just got call from that number also did not answer. they didn't leave a message so i checked on the number first. they must spend a lot in long distance cause i am 5 ***dred miles away.

FOB  in cahoots with the police departments.  Police can't call legally but hire a front company for them.  The front takes 75% of the money or more and give the police the rest.  Police don't have to do anything and can use this free money for their charities or christmas ball or what ever.If you pay taxes, you don't need to fund the police.  If they have a charity of merit, the police can solicit funds from the United Way (which makes sure the charity event is legitimate)If they don't get you, the ****up and don't leave a message But they continue to call.  I wait them out.Glad I have call screening

I got a call from the number, but was scared bc it said police so I ignored it. Then about an hour later I got a call from a "private name" and totally different number that asked for a relative who never lived here. They asked for their number and I said I didn't know it. Then the lady on the line said they would take me off the calling list.But from reading what people have said, I'm not sure if that second number is real or fake.Anyways, do you think that they are really trying to see if your home?now i'm even more scared.I had also thought about calling the police number back to see if it was anything important or urgent but I wasn't going to. Thank God!!!!!Thank you everyone who answered too!P.S. can't the actual police stop them?

ARE YOU NUTS?! THESE CALLS ARE BOGUS!!!! THEY DONT CARE FOR ANYTHING AS SOON AS YOU ANSWER ANY QUESTION THEY **** UP!! THEY ARE SEEING IF SOMEONE IS HOME! DO NOT PICKUP WHEN THEY CALL OR YOU"LL CONTINUE GETTING DIFFERENT COMPANY CALLS AT THAT TIME EVERY DAY!!!!!!!! (all though it is fun to play with these losers when they call and make them crazy like they make me!! just scream and yell at them ask them for their names etc. I even asked the guy if he wanted to donate money to my organization - which, like his, doesnt exist!!!)

These pieces of **** called our house. I think they are thieves who stage break-ins and armed robberies. They probably work hand in hand with local police departments who only know how to solve pre-staged crimes. They also try to get you to send them money and attempt iden***y theft schemes. As usual, anything that says "police" or "government" these days is just another scammer out to steal your hard-earned money. Tell them to drop dead when they come calling for you!

First time got call from 516 area code although got many calls from other areas namely 732, 866, 877, 888 etc. Public Awareness was the worst. They call all the time. CID shows FRAT ORD POLICE. Rang 3 times then **** up. Never answer this type of call. Waste my time and might even get spammed.

This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the New York State Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number.  It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there’s information on www.nysfop.com, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for New York police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

Caller ***g up when I answered. Read-out said "Frat Order of Police." Legitimate cops do NOT solicit money from the general public by telephone.

They just called me too. When I answered the phone they didn't speak. Thanks to all who post things like this, otherwise I would have taken the call seriously. All the best.

Got a call from this number on Friday while at work. No message left. Caller ID says, "Fraternal Order of Police". Probably looking for money. Don't have any, so I will ignore them.

They can ask for all the money they want, but as long as they call my house, I will not be answering the phone. ***** them..........
