This particular call was 'Out of Area', but has called from the above number before.  Man named Anthony Bowden (sp?) with thick indian/****stan accent claimed to be from American Financial Board and wanted to help with my 'unsecured debt'.  Keeps calling & being rude & cursing.  Told him I was on the 'Do not call list' and to not call a***n.  Keeps calling though.

They are calling me 2 to 3 times a day, with out leaving a message, if I call back, meessage say's number disconnected

I have received 3 calls from this number today stating that they are with American Financial.  I tried to call the number back and am told that the number is not in service. I would like to know who they are and how this number will show up on caller id when it is not a working number.  The first call at 9:00 am this morning was from out of area.

We are on the Do Not Call registry, didn't seem to matter. Said he has information that we have more than $10k credit card debt, and said he worked for Nationwide, we told him to put us on the do not call list, and refused saying that he will call a***n, and a***n. Reported call to FCC. PLEASE DO THE SAME!

called and asked for my husband then told him he wasn't home he ***g up on me. Who could this be? very rude..

This number continues 516-488-8552 to call my house and ask for us by name then I state no such and such is not home and they **** up.  I pay for a private number and am a member of the DO NOT CALL LIST so this is really annoying.  Any suggestions on locating who is really placing these calls?

I just got a call from this phone number telling me I had over 8000.00 in unsecured credit card debt. They said they were from American Financial. What kind of scam is this.Where are they getting our phone numbers and names?

just mess with these people... I kinda look forward to them calling.  I act liked a hillbilly redneck that doesn't know how to work his phone.  I s**** telling them stories that do not make since.  I just have fun with it.  I should record it, cause it is pretty funny.

Same as above,no question hes a foreigner,calls all the time even after repeated requests to stop,ask his name and he will **** up, told me last call he was from american attornerys?.he has been american finance,american general all companies that are close to the real ones,I checked.... BIG TIME SCAMMER!

When I answered the phone, the caller responded by asking if I was my daughter. I responded by asking who was calling and he just ***g up! I don't know what their game is but it is annoying The voice sounded foreign not English/American.

I think my wife has the answer. I just put her personal alarm next to the phone for the next call from this or any other unknown caller ID number that calls. These things are LOUD!  :)

This guy called twice today claiming to be a debt consultant and can lower my interest rates on my credit cards.  When asked for his name/number so that he can be reported to the FTC, he asked why we wanted to know and that there wasn't anything we could do about it.  He threatened to call up to 100 times a day.  He then began using extremely ****** language that made it clear he is not from a legitimate company.  I had same experience when tried to call back -- the number is "not a working number."

my wife got a call from this # 516-488-8552 yes****ay, same foul-mouthed low life as previously described. same results on callback.  the # shows to be a verizon landline in nassau, ny but it is obviously masked.

Just received call from 516-488-8552.  After many calls from them telling them I'm not interested,they called tonight and I told him I was not interested and DO NOT CALL ME BACK.  He said to me,"You fu----- as-hole,why you waste my time,you fu----- bi--h.  I couldn't believe my ears and told him I am calling his supervisor.  Well,I called number back and it also has been disconnected.  This won't stop here!!!

They call me everyday. Don't ever say anything & just **** up. I try to call them back & the number is disconnected...  Wondering if anyone else who is getting these phone calls has recently inquired about on line schools?

I have gotten 6 calls from this company. When I answer, the caller will identify his/herself as being from American Financial. When I tell them to add me to their do not call list, they **** up. I have been on the National DO NOT CALL registry for a while. They say they have information that I have credit card debt. I don't. That combined with the fact that they **** up, makes me think this is a scam. I reported this number to the National DO NOT CALL registry and the FTC. If you get a call from this "company," please report them also.

Got a call from this "company" - they are scammers.  Tried to call back the number, says disconnected.  Wish I could find out who they are.  They call back, they are getting an earful!
