got a call from that #, it ***g up and I called back it was not in service

I received this call while i was at the store. When i came back my son said, mami public asistance called u, and they asked me some information about you. I was surprise so i called the number back 3 time and it was busy. Finally the 3rd time I call it rang, and rang no answer.

Mark is right! After I registered with NYS Dept.of Labor, I s****ed getting calls from this number. When I call this number back, no one ever picks up. And the name in the caller ID is NYS OFT/Pearl (New York State Office for Technology) CIO/OFT is a New York State agency.

I have been dealing with Social Security and this is definitely their number. Same number shows up on my cell phone records each time they call me. And I keep notes of my conversations with them which include date and time & number I call. It corresponds - cell records & my notes. And for what its worth, I live in New York state.

Mark is correct. This is the main exchnage number for the state. No one will answer this number, if you try to call back.

Sounds about right- call from a state worker. Inform your friends to please leave a message when they call so we can avoid the aggravation and guessing game.

Just figured out what the number is.  Do any of you know people that work for the state?  I got a call from a friend who works for department of social services and that number popped up....although that is not her direct number.  She said that the number is one of the main numbers for the state...there are several others.  So if you try calling it back, ***ody will answer.

Yeah.....I got a missed call message on my office phone  (at GE in Schenectady) with this number listed and when I tried calling the number, it just kept ringing.  Strange!!
