Asked for man or lady of the house. Muted and did not speak to them

They wanted to buy a couch from me off of Craigslist for $150 they overnighted a check to me worth $1670 and said I had to pay the movers ASAP. Unfortunately I fell for the scam. Not sure how to get out of it or what will happen next.

I received an email from Maria J Paluszny responding to a craigslist post with very similar scenario as above - cannot meet due to age and covid and stating that she will send $ via overnight USPS

Check came today for $980.00 for a $125 item. Check from "Comerica Bank", Ann Arbor, MI. Will play along for awhile.

Craigslist scam. Text from (530) 317-2273. Wants to buy from me off craigslist, via sending check, I'm suppose to pay their mover with the balance. Awaiting the arrival of the check so I can tear it up. I'm in Nor Cal. Check tracking # indicates coming from COLUMBIA SC.

Craiglist ad exactly like other instances. Have been emailing with [email protected] for a couple of weeks about setting up purchase. Currently waiting for the "check" and thought I'd google the email just to check. Too bad, really thought it was just an old woman who needed****istance. Thought it was weird when they turned down our offer to deliver for $25.

Craigslist scam! Buyer wanted to purchase an item and send extra $ to pay a mover ( b/c of her age and covid she would hire a mover she trusts to pick up). A week later apologized for the delay due to daughter getting married and that the check was sent - provided a tracking #. followed up when check arrived and insisted movers be paid immediately, so it could be picked up. Bottom line = SCAM!

Sent a message week later apologizing for delay due to daughter getting married & that the check was sent, gave tracking #. Received text message on day check was to arrive requesting I replay asap, said she could only text.

Craigslist scam, they will send you a check for way more than the price of your item, and then have you send funds for "shipping". Do not trust!

This is a Craiglist scammer who said would buy my item for $200 and send me a check where I supposedly would pay the rest to movers, ended up sending me a check for $1950 and address was for Brooklyn, no where near my local area.

Had item for sale on Craigslist and received e-mail response from [email protected] saying he wanted item and was isolated due to covid-19 and could not view or pick up item in person. said would send check by priority mail to cover cost plus to pay "mover". only received text on day that mail was to be delivered. but no mail showed up as there was a package intercept initiated by sender.

Craig's list SCAM. Sends a check for $1980.00 for a$200.00 item. Requests a mobile deposit of the check then transfer money through App called CashApp. Called the bank to verify funds which I knew would be insufficient. I hope no one falls for this scam.

Wanted to buy a $300 item on Craigs List and send a check for $1870 and asked to zelle $1570 to [email protected]. Scammer!

Offered to buy my $400 speakers for $500. Sent a check for $2500 and asked me to pay "her shipper" $2000

Bought my $490 iPad on Craigslist, then sent me a check for $2,660 and told me to keep $600 and send the rest to mover over Zelle or CashApp.

Was selling a car on craigslist for $5000 they messaged right away and said they'd pay full price no questions asked. Next message came very quickly and stated they would mail a check right away with extra money for me to give to a friend of theirs in town to pick up the car. I asked for their number since this felt weird and they sent 530-317-2273 and they said txt only.

This person scammed me $1500 for services he did not deliver. He wanted pre-payment before he s****ed and now he has my money I have no way of getting the $1******ck.
