Leave a CommentGot a call at 6:31 today for Amvets. Figured it was a ripoff. Going to call Amvets about this tomorrow.
Phone run at 4:42pm and no one there... Woke me up... grr.. lol
Same as above. They keep calling, and calling...
Typical rings with no one there. As to the VA FOP, I am contacting my rep to ask for a state bill to ban the practices of the single worst soliciting organization out there, FOP. This is a new number for them but the practice is exactly the same as pages and pages of complaints a***nst them. NO ONE should ever give them even 2 seconds on the phone and even less for $. What's the difference between strong arming and harassment and this organization. In THEORY our police are supposed to stop NOT support and push this behavior! I give through CFC and I would never even consider them even if they cleaned up their disgusting behavior. Seems to me many criminal and violent organizations have done some good deeds to try and look acceptable. Tell me what the difference is here!
Follow up to my previous message. After contacting the VA FOP ([email protected])I received a message from their administrative****istant (Bonnie) who said if you provide your phone number they will add it to their Do NoT Call list. Hope it works!
That number just called my house at 8:05 a.m.. Told him he woke me up and ***g up. This the second attempt by those fine folks--the first time I told them no thanks and not to call back. Guess they don't get the message. I have sent an e-mail to the VA FOP ([email protected]) asking that I not be contacted by this fund raising organization. Recommend everyone do the same.
I have received 2 calls previously and told the gentleman I did not want to donate to a charity he could not define beyond "Fraternal Order of Police". I just received another call from this number and explained that I had already declined to give any money on the previous call. He stated "You don't want to contribute?" I then told him that I use CFC to contribute my charitable donations and he ***g up.
Called my house, spoke to my wife, asking for me, but left no message. Thanks for posting here . . . This is a pretty neat site!
This number called my house at 8:32am on 11/21. I was out of town and it left no message. Thanks for posting here so I could figure out who it was calling.
Received two calls this morning from 540-318-7335, one answered by my wife who told the man to call her husband back. He said he could not, so she said "sorry about that" and ***g up. The "phone bank" (I once knew as a "boiler Room"), is located in West ******ia. He did call back two hours later and I had a long talk with "Chad Finch". The fund raising group he works with contracts with the FOP, Fraternal order of Police (IRS 501(c)(8)organization)to raise money for them. The fundraisers will get a ****mum of $400.000. or 15% of the gross collections. The balance of the money (85%) will go the the FOP which will be whittled down further by salaries, overhead etc. before any money is put into the actual use for the benefit of the members. They do not represent any particular police department. They represent whomever (I****ume law inforcement personel) personally joining the organization. The benefits of joining, apparently would provide a ***** benefit to the members family and provide a scholarship program for the children of a deceased officer. They also are working on a child finger print program according to Chad. I told Chad that the organization probably does someone some good, but I was not interested in contributing to the POP or to his funding raising group. Also, I am sorry that the "do not call" list does not pertain to nonprofit organizations. I did tell him that this was the fourth call from his group in the last week. He said the records indicated that this was the first contact. I said that it was not true, that he contacted my wife two hours ago. He apologized. I said that the number he is using is being commented on in the internet and that he really is not making friends - he laughed. I told him that the phone computer apparently calls several people at one time and when the first answers, it ****s up the the others. He told me that it depends on the number of solicitors working at that time as to the number called at one time. Also, if someone does not answer by three rings, it ****s up automatically. This is another way of making good friends! I apologize for taking a lot of his time, but thanked him for the information. He was a nice fellow but not making any friends.
Got a call multiple times this week. We're able to block calls on our handset so the number won't ring and goes right into voicemail. They could outlaw telemarketing and it wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit. This site is great.
Received a call today state they were from the National Order of Police and wants a donation...I've recently seen a program on TV about the National Order of Police and how companies are claiming they are a part of the organization and are requesting donate on the behalf of the N.O.P.
These are people who ask for donations to the ******ia State Police FOP. Tell them you are unemployed and they will leave you alone.
got a call from this number....i asked my roommate to answer...and did not even introduce himself...
They've called my office (Gov't facility) three times in past 24 hours 0817 11/20, 1719 on 11/20, and a***n 0839 on 11/21.
It called about 9:30am & did not leave a message. It called a***n about 5:30pm and the telemarketer said he was with the "Fraternal Order of Police". I told him I was not interested. I then ***g up on him. They had been calling from another number. I guess it's time to block that number too.
I found several of these on my unlisted and unpublished phone caller ID after return from a trip.
Called yes****ay and today, I don't pick up on unknown numbers, because they usually either want to sell you so****ing or **** up on you. Very annoying. And they called before 9am!
I just received a call from this number, too. No message left on the ma****e, and like the first person here, we have been on the Do Not Call list for years.
Received several calls from the is number over the last few days. No message is ever left on the ma****e.
