PS- Dell Tech Support****ured me verbally and via email that Dell does not receive any signals from its computers. There is NO communication between computer and Dell after sale, except when customer is present.

Call to me answered (mistake). Caller ID'ed himself as Dell Computer rep and my computer was sending "help, I'm going to crash" messages to Dell servers. I forgot all I'd been told about this scam and let him in my computer. when tried to sell me $350 firewall supposedly by Dell, i finally woke up and ***g up. He called back twice from this number and twice from a "Restricted" number. I called Dell and the short story:Dell will never call customer unless it is a mutal previously scheduled return or service call. Dell uses "Go To****ist" as remote****istance software, nothing else. Finally, Dell Technical Support suggested I ALWAYS ask for either last case number, extension and call back for caller-then call Dell Tech Support and give them the number. I am embarrassed falling for this **** as I have had good luck sniffing them out quickly. The best possible red flag was the snotty tone and insistent pushing even after I ***g up on the clod. I have never had any contact with Dell that was not courteous and polite, even when I was a little grumpy.
