Got a text from the same number asking if I wasna girl, then asked if I was into Asian guys and wanted to exc****e **** pictures.  Did some checking - number is registered to Cynthia C. Pierce age 49  35 Wooddale Circle Rocky Mount, VA 24151  Number is serviced by Southwestern Bell Mobile Sytems of VA

Him: Hey this is Joey Mason, do you know me?Me: Do you go to _____?Him: are you a girl?Me: Yes, why?Him: Name?  age? single?Me: ___, you should know my name because you texted me first.Him: no, I don't. I'm almost 23 and you're way too young for me.Me: How did you get my number?Him: I randomly texted your numberMe: oh, ok.Him: I'll just leave you alone then.scary..

Obviously some sort of scam similar to the random emails generated by spam robots (not as tasty or as fun as they sound).  I made the same mistake of initially texting back "Who is this?" thinking it might actually be an acquaintance but from here on out will check numbers like these on the net before replying. Will our phones soon become the next victims of relentless spammers?

okay, i just got the same exact text yes****ay! but before i replied i googled the phone #...him: "is this a girl?"me: "maybe. is this joey?"...then he CALLED me like 6 hours later, about 3am my time! then texted...him: "yes"him: "how did you know my name? is ur name ______?"then about 3 hours later....he CALLED me A***N! then texted...him: "u there?"about 4 hours later....me: "i goggled ur cell # before i texted you back. it looks like u text a lot of other people? they all got the same text from you."him: "u a girl?"me: "why? where did you get my #?him: "u said you goggled mine"me: "yes but you texted me first. how'd u randomly get my #?"him: "idk ive just been texting at random. im such a BAD BOY!"aannnd, i didn't respond to that one.... so if you ever get a text from this person, i would recommend NOT replying.

I got the same message. I found a my****e page with that number on it. He won't reply to my texts.

I too got a text yes****ay from the same number asking, "Is this a girl!" I ignored it, but later did a reverse number search on the phone.
