I just spoke with Sprint, and told them about this text that seems to be hitting Sprint and Nextel cutomers, I was told to forward the text to them at:[email protected] and they would look into it and block it.So......... PLease pass this on if you know anyone else getting harrassed by these****holes!!!! Thanks!!
Posting a***n. Got another on the 29th. Also a customer in VA, don't know if that means anything. The 2nd time it said to call a different # than the 1st. We have 2 phones and got the message on both even though texting is supposed to be blocked. I just got a call with caller ID 9099 too. This is the second time in two days. The first message from same caller ID had so****ing about New Generations alert and gave phone number to call - 813-435-1482. I haven't called either one.

I just got the exact same text, figured it was a scam.
I called Sprint and talked to Oliver (very helpful and nice customer service rep). He said you can log in at sprint.com and on the right side of the screen, click on block messages. He said to block the 9099 and also 9999 because those are typically phishing numbers. You can also email [email protected] and give the information for the texts you are getting so they can investigate it.
Looked up 541-210-5546 - It is a cell phone in Medford, OR.

Got the same text messages as Ellen and others indicate above. Checked the New Generation Federal Credit Union website and found this message:We have been informed that another Phishing Scan is asking members for the Account Number, PIN and Card Numbers. New Genrations WILL NEVER contact you and ask for this information. DO NOT respond to any calls, emails, mailings or other requests for personal information.
I got the same texts one saying New Generations alert call 813-435-1482 and the second mentioning a frozen credit union acct with the number 541-210-5546. Both came from 9099 so they looked official at first, but clearly aren't.
Same message, same numbers, same carrier. Two texts from 9099 yes****ay, one today, both allegedly from "New Generations".Time for concerted action!

Same problem as noted above by Ellen in Richmond, VA. I have Sprint as well.Major SPAM trying to get CC info. Seem to be targeting SPRINT numbers. Texts are from 9099. The first few say: "New Generations alert. Please call 813 435 1482." Got that one twice.
