I have been receiving a call from 'Officer' someone of the department of law and investigations. I haven't been answering the original phone calls because they come through my caller id as unknown and the phone number is 1010. today I see a caller id from my local area code so I answer it. I then get this officer guy who verifies my name, address and ssn, and gives me a case number of 150781. He then transfers me to 'Officer Jame******ian' who gives me this s***l that I have 3 counts of fraud a***nst me filed by Cashnet and I must pay him 589.00 immediately to stop the court actions. He told me that I have two options and he was recording my answer. The two options were fight the legal case, or settle with him. I told him that I wanted to talk to the company and he told me I couldn't do that as the case has been handed over to federal court. It was a really difficult call as the guys had horrible accents and I couldn't hardly understand them - they even stumbled over their words as they were talking. I told them I wasn't going to do anything until I checked it out, and they told me that I had to call them back in 2 hours. After I ***g up, i did a reverse look-up on the two phone numbers they gave me. One was a cell phone in my local area, and the other was an unpublished land line in New York City. And when I googled my case file number - I got this page. Imagine that. I'm calling my local police about the local cell number, and if they call a***n I am demanding that they send me paperwork!! And putting a block on my iden***y..........

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM A MAN WITH A MIDDLE EASTERN ACCENT CLAIMING TO BE AN OFFICER FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF LAW AND INVESTIGATION TELLING ME I AM BEING SUED BY CASH NET MARKETING AND THAT I COULD SETTLE OUT OF COURT FOR $493.00 OR I WILL BE TAKEN TO COURT AND THEN HAVE TO PAY $2,980.00 FOR COST OR I WILL BE ARRESTED PUT BEHIND BARS. HE DID NOT GIVE ME HIS NAME BUT DID GIVE ME THIS CASE FILE NUMBER 150781.

Please call your local Sheriff Department and report this scam IMMEDIATELY. I have reported him and he is impersonating an officer of law...he identified himself as a Sheriff Deputy of Placer County California (Auburn, California) and I am in Michigan. He says his name is Officer Steve Richards, which is untrue and Placer County does not have any officer with this name.Call your local Sheriff Department IMMEDIATELY and insist they follow through. They not only will try to get money from you, but steal your iden***y as well.Good luck to us all.....

This guy by the name of Gary Smith called my office today saying it is very urgent that I get in contact with him because I have 2 complaints issued a***nst me about a pay day loan, He also states he is calling from criminal and fraud investigation dept. I have never had a payday loan, when I asked how did you get my number and who are you really, he can't come up with a answer quickly. I notify him that I have googled your number and you are some freaky company that is trying to scam innocent people out of money. He insist this in untrue and I need to send him $700.00 immediately to avoid any future actions. Okay what ever I say. i have not hear from him since.  Please people beware of this scam, there are truely some dishonest people out there.

I have been receiving the same calls - from Mark Williams. He is telling me all the same things: need to settle out of court, if I don't he explains the consequences it could have on my credit as well as I could "end up behind bars".  First of all, an officer will not say so****ing like that!  I went to the local police and they said because the calls were blocked, unknown, private, there wasn't much the could do about the calls themselves.  He did tell me that if I did get some kind of paperwork, they could file a fraud report.  In the meantime, he suggested that I notify the Social Security office and put a block on my number (this will cause the SS office to call you if an application of any kind is filled out to prevent someone from using my #).  He also suggested that I notify the 3 major credit bureaus. Said his name was Mark Williams from the Department of Law and Investigations.  Said I was being sued and am in big trouble.  He also called my mother and my place of employment.This needs to be stopped.

So this guy calls my phone on a private number...so I dont pick up. He leaves a message saying he is an officer with the " law and Investigation" office. That works for the US government. He has a real real real real thick arabic accent. Says his name is " Officer Gary Smith"....Gary smith??? sure. Anyways he gives me the whole shpeal on how I owe him money, saying I need to make a written statement saying Im going to pay his company this much money. Saying he is collecting for a loan company called " Net Cash" Says I owe 2000 dollars and need to pay 700 today. Says I need to put it in writing with my debit card number on it and get it notarized and send it to him in an hour. I was just like sure bud will do. Little did this ***** know I work for the US Government. SO i decide to take it to my superiors who then want to speak with him. So I call him a back and my Superior speaks to him and he is fumbling his words ...cant come with quick answers to legitimate questions. He then denies stating that I owe his company money. Then says tell my attorney to call him and ****s up. So I left it at that ...but about an hour later he calls back and says "your attorney never called" I say because Im not paying you anything. So then I **** up. I get a call from them a***n....this time the person on the phone says this is the attorney general...and I say attorney general of who? he says " law and investigation" my name is "leo Walter. But this guys sounds exactly the same as "gary Smith" very think arabic accent.I said I dont give a F. So then he says please call me back. So I Call him back and another guy pick up by the name of "David Spelling" I say connect me to Leo walter...I get put on hold for 5 minutes. I call back ask for " leo" a***n...he says hes busy...then I say to him ..."why is it that when i google your phone number it says you are a scam?" all he says in " NO, We wil cal you back" and mind you this guys sounds the same as all other three people I spoke to..think arabic accent..havent heard from him since...scammer....so Now this phone number has been blacklisted in all US Military Government black lists.

CALLING WITH ALL MY INFORMATION...SS# LISCENSE # ADDRESS THREATENING ME WITH CRIMINAL CHARGES WILL HAVE MY CREDIT REPORT FLAGGED FOR FRAUD

They say they are with the Department of Law and Investigation, collecting a debt for Cash Net Marketing and the one that called me said his name is Officer/Agent Andy Brown. I have called my  state attorney general's office, Federal Trade Commissions office, filed a complaint with the California BBBs and had to have my credit reports flagged for fraud with my SS#. I hope they are caught soon.

I received a call at my work number, my cell number and they even called my daughter who has a different last name and lives in a different city threatening her with arrest if she did not get me to pay a loan that I DO NOT HAVE - they are almost impossible to understand and refuse to give any details over the phone.  I insisted that they mail me the do***entation for this supposed loan and they ***g up on me - this has GOT to be a scam!!  If anyone has the name and/or address of this company, please post so that I can file charges with my state!

I just received a call at work and on my cell phone.  I know I have some loans out there that I am working on and trying to pay off yet, I can hardly understand him. He says he is from the Department of Law and Investigation and that is is truly ergent I contact him to resolve a matter in which he can not discuss on the voicemail.  I have been getting these weird 12222222222 and +000000000 numbers calling my cell phone!!  I know I will never, I repeat never get myself in this situation to be harrassed by people....who act like...law investigators...etc A***N!! Lord help me not to, because it is worrisome.    Terrible, yet I guess it is their job or their scam.  I will contact the companies I have gone through myself and see what happens.  If they refer me to this number, then fine I will call, if not. I will not!

I applied (and paid off) a payday loan taken online thru a CA-based company..just today (7-15-09) I received a call from a middle-eastern sounding guy who said I was being sued and could settle out of court with an payment by phone..I didn't answer his initial call,as I was at work.My younger brother was called just prior to me receiving this call a***n,who was told that he and I were both in danger of being arrested! He was freaked! At this point, I called the guy back and demanded he tell me whom he and the company were so I could get to the bottom of this,and cussed him out as well for threatening my brother..he ***g up on me and I haven't heard from him since

Recieved call from this number claiming to be a investigator regarding a friend trying to get info out of me. SCAM!

rcvd numerous calls from above number stating officer is calling about criminal activity and fraud stating that i was being sued by Cash Net Marketing for over $2000 but would settle for $780 in installment payments on my prepaid Mastercard.  He could not tell me which company was sueing me as the company had many links and many cash advance companies.  He contacted a friend and threatened her.  I was to notarize a letter stating that i apologized for defaluting on a loan and listing all the cc info and the number of installments.  Every voice in the background sounded foreign and I could barely understand what he was saying.  I called a legitimate cash advance company that i am dealing with and the rep from that company said "it sounds like a group from India that I know of that has been putting through a scam.". I will contact the BBB to see if more people are being contacted about this.

this guy keeps calling my cell phone because my sister applied for an online "payday loan" and used me as a reference. He called her saying that he had people outside of her house wat****g her and he knew where she lived and alot of other stuff about her. Now he's calling me and saying that they have a serious issue a***nst ME and if i return his calls he "may be able to help me". I can barely understand this guy!! Anyway, im glad to see that other people are having issues with this guy as well.

Idian dude claiming to be an officer trying to get money called my friend saying I was being sued.  I can only th ink It was when I applied for an auto loan and put her as a referance.  Doesnt make ay sense that he doesnt call me.  Wierd.  Scared the s**t outt of my friend.  He even answers the number as a criminal investigator...but really cops dont do tthat..they dont call and threaten.
