Today I got a call from someone claiming to be an IRS "Officer" and the following is the text of the message left for me: "The very second you receive this message I need you or your retained Attorney of records to return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. I'm Officer Heather Gray (or Green) from the Irs and the hotline to my division is (585) 444-7053. I repeat it's (585) 444-7053. Press 1 now to speak with an IRS officer. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any legal allegation a***nst you. Good Bye and take care. Press 1 now and speak with an IRS Officer" I have checked out the number online and have found that this is an ongoing scam. The number is located in Henrietta, NY. Appears these type of calls have been going out all this month. I have filed a complaint with the FTC but sure wish that this number could be shutdown quickly since I know a lot of seniors who would fall for it.

Three calls in a row 20 min apart on a Sa****ay morning. First person left unintelligible message with thick Spanish accent. Second person called left message with Indian accent and I could make out him saying my name, then "IRS" and the phone number. Then they called a***n, some guy named "Vincent" and I picked up. He said I need to call a "Mark Victor" a this (585) 444-7053 number regarding tax issue. I asked where he was and who he was. He said New York and gave his operator number as 1037610980. I had him repeat it. I tried calling "Mark Victor" of supposed IRS at this number and get a "the person you are trying to reach is not available - please leave a message." Then there is a beep, and I tried to leave message but it says "the mailbox is full."
