Leave a Commenthttp://statesboro.biz/News/678/UPDATED-Kudos- ... o-Recovery.aspxUPDATED Kudos to Attorney David Larson for Targeting Debt Collector Portfolio Recovery Allen Harkleroad Portfolio Recovery****ociates (stock ticker PRAA) is a junk debt buyer and collector. Buyers of junk debts, which are old uncollectable debts that are resold many times, generally do not have any proof or do***entation that an alleged debt is even owed. Junk debt buyers such as Portfolio Recovery often employ aggressive (and sometimes illegal) collection tactics to collect on a stale account. The Denver Post published an article concerning a local Denver attorney that has ‘targeted’ Portfolio Recovery****ociates. Of course, industry publications such as Inside ARM espouses the article as a calling out of David Larson’s lawsuits a***nst the junk debt collector. What Inside ARM neglects to mention is that there must be a reason for Mr. Larson to file FDCPA lawsuits a***nst the company. If employees of the company did not break collection laws then there would be absolutely no reason to file actions a***nst Portfolio Recovery. In my opinion the company is hardly innocent of alleged wrongdoing. In order to see what Portfolio Recovery has been doing, you merely need to read the news.Portfolio Recovery****ociates Sending Bogus IRS 1099-C’s to Consumers A***nReader Gets Portfolio Recovery Debt Collection Lawsuit Dismissed with Prejudice Lawsuit Filed A***nst Portfolio Recovery Regarding Unfair ArbitrationsDebt Collectors Gone Wild - Dead Woman’s Affidavits Still Haunting CourtsDebt Collectors in the NewsFACT: Upwards of ninety-percent (90%) of credit card debt lawsuits that are filed, the attorney has insufficient (or no) proof that a debt is owed. The reason is that the proper do***entation was lost or never transferred to the law firm or the debt buyer. All Portfolio Recovery****ociates (and others) need to do is stop allowing their employees from using illegal tactics and harassment to collect debts. I applaud David Larson for exposing the collection tactics of PRA and protecting consumers form such activities. It’s is high time that collection companies be held accountable for their collectors activities.ABOUT ALLEN HARKLEROAD Allen Harkleroad is the author of the book “Stick it to Sue Happy Debt Collectors”. I am adding this number, because I believe it to be a Portfolio****et Recovery #; I never answer "Unavailable" or out of state area codes. Most of the "out of state area codes" I usually look up on this website, and most of them have been Portfolio****et Recovery numbers. I have copied one of the repliers of this website who gave a long and detailed list of the Portfolio****et Recovery numbers, and I have it on my desktop, and am keeping track of how often these people call me. I don't trust them at all; and believe they are just trying to get money out of people who obviously cannot afford to pay, or they would have taken care of the debt. I do believe you should pay off your debt, don't get me wrong, and I have taken care of my bills, but refuse to stress myself out by trying to convince them otherwise; I've read too many stories on this website that are troubling, to say the least. Here is the list of phone numbers that someone went to allot of trouble to compile:204-949-3108205-423-4020205-588-8181212-000-4956215-944-8989239-642-8598404-592-5171407-347-4014410-282-1420412-282-1420440-580-0720443-313-1380484-489-2840510-355-1780(2/28/11;2/22/11;513-878-4916602-264-2270602-795-1383604-637-3300 (3/3/11;605-782-2890616-608-0982620-662-1492620-662-8870626-209-2241661-673-4507678-265-1568(3/2/11;2/22/11;702-410-7069727-637-8527731-215-8010731-984-7690757-321-2***757-321-62***57-321-6279757-321-6280757-321-6281757-321-6282757-519-9300757-847-4539757-864-0020757-961-3544757-961-3545757-961-3546757-961-3547757-961-3548786-206-8***800-427-7142800-473-7994800-772-1413847-678-9710847-791-0193847-994-2540(2/25/11;2/24/11;847-994-2544858-346-1184859-918-0780864-268-3762866-240-7530866-658-7***866-691-3568866-887-0973866-891-3257866-940-7640877-275-8236877-749-9731877-803-0008877-876-8723888-218-5212888-543-6072888-772-7326918-442-0320973-947-4806980-939-7534Maybe you can keep track of a list yourself to see how many times this outfit calls you.
