I've received 6+ calls from them, but I've only picked up once. No one was on the line. They've left a few voicemails with naught but silence

I ignored them.

That is a scam. People can pretend to be what they want to steal ur information. Best way is to look up phone book or their own Internet website and call their own number. After calling, ask them about the scam number they tried to call u.

This person called and said my they were from Midcontinent. After informing me I qualified for discounted cable rate they asked if I was available for installation on the 15th. I called back several hours later and the same man answers asking for my account info. I hung up after that.

Phone rang. Answered. They hung up.

Answered, they didn't talk.

Phone rang, I answered the call, they promptly hung up.

left a minute long silent voicemail ???
