"Nigel Morris" called a***n Tuesday. Was actually able to get him on the phone (notmally when i called back, it went right to a voicemail that was full and couldnt accept messages). Anyhow, I had already filed a complain a***nst the phone number with the FTC, NY and NJ attorney general, the FBI and homeland security. When I called him back i told him that right off the bat. He played dumb and said he didnt know what I was talking about and claimed he didnt know "Nigel Morris" I told him that if I get ONE more call that I would have HIM arrested. He played dumb, apologized and ***g up. If ANYONE else gets calls from these clowns, take the same approach. And seriously go to the FBI, FTC, AG's and homeland security websites. Very easy to file complaints. This is a SCAM. DO not be scared and DO NOT let them push you around. Turn the tables on them
Received call. When I was to give him my attorney's name he said, you have my number have them call me. and that was it. Total scam.
THIS IS A SCAM......... DONT BE AFRAID....... ACTUALLY I HAVE CALLED THIS NUMBER AND THEIR ***DREDS OTHER NUMBERS NUMEROUS TIMES AND HAVE THREATENED THEM IN RETURN... YOU SHOULD SEE THEM SWEAT. LOLYOU SHOULD DO THE SAME...ON A SERIOUS NOTE, EVERYONE SHOULD BE REPORTING THIS TO THE FBI, FEDERAL TRADE COMMISION, ATTORNEY GENERAL, AND LOCAL POLICE SO THESE PEOPLE GET CAUGHT AND LOCKED UP!
Got a call from someone that on caller ID it said unknown caller, i didn't answer and it went to answering ma****e. my sister called me 10 mins later and says that some guy named Harry Watson with the criminal Investigation Agency told her that i was the prime suspect in a case pending investigation. said that she herself was an****esory to the fact if she didn't give him my information. she said that she couldn't get ahold of me right away and to give him his info. this is really scary, she said the incomplete number that came up on her caller ID is 052538374, but the number he gave was 609-357-1173. I don't have long distance so can't call it. please find out who this is and stop them from doing this, I wonder how many others they have actually got to pay them?
I received a call this am from an individual named Nigel Morris. He was seeking information on my babysitter. He told me he was from a crime prevention department and a case would be filed with the court today if I didn't get a message to my sitter promptly. I was very skeptical regarding this call so I did a google search on the phone number. Only to find out this is all a scam. Phone number given to call back was: 609-357-1173.
This is a super scam---some Indian accent guy called my work stating he was with some "crime prevention agency" and that I might be a suspect in a crime. He also called my cell phone and left a message. Do NOT send them any money---don't even talk to them just file a complaint with the attorney general in your state and with the FTC. If you do talk to them---tell them you know they are a scam and that you are reporting them to the authorities. They break every single rule of the Fair Debt Collection guidelines.
Just got a call from "Alex White" at work today from this number. He told my boss I had to call IMMEDIATELY! When I called he told me I owed money for a payday loan I had taken out. I told him that I didn't owe any money and he said the company was suing me. I asked for the name of the company and he said Payday Cash. I asked for their phone number and he wouldn't give it to me, said I had to work through him now. I said I wasn't paying for anything until I spoke with Payday Cash, he kept insisting that if I didn't pay today that I would be sued...I said fine, sue me! I told him I was going to look this company up and call them and then he ***g up on me. This happened to me before and they are full of ****! I didn't report it last time, but this time I am definitely filing a report on them.
I called The NJ State Attorney General's Office yes****ay. They told me that this sounds very much like a scam. They said these people run this gorilla operation. They hole up in a hotel room for a few weeks until they get enough information from people and then they move on to the next. He was very sneaky. He knew all the rules for debt collectors, but the Attorney General's office told me they can find that information any place online. I asked the supposed "Debt Collector" or "Dept of Crime Prevention" to send me a certified letter of debt and he refused. Said he does not actually work for the debt collector. He is in the dept f crime prevention who was hired by Payday Cash Loans. He said he would be sending me (via email) a 35 page afidavit as well as one to my attorney. He knew all the right things to say to sound possibly legit. I also told me boss that the only person who should be calling me here at work is my Husband and if there really was a true "emergency" that it would be a family or friend calling who would be more than willing to identify themselves. However, the Attorney General's Office said they never heard of a Dept of Crime Prevention. They would not send so****ing via email Theyw oudl send it certified letter. They instructed me to call The Federal Trade Commission. I called them and they had nothing on the phone number, but instructed that I file a complaint on it. I suggest you all do the same.

I got the exact same call that I was a suspect in a crime that they were filling so****ing in my county court system a***nst me that i had to pay them and they wanted my debit card or electronic check information. Said that I would be embarassed at my place of work and home. They did call my work and a supervisor asked me if all was well too. I called this guy back, same accent said his name was Nigel Morris. They were suposed to call me back for my bank info that day and want me to pay this week on friday. They never called and I am waiting for them to call on friday. Have had this happen once before and nothing materialized from it
Got a phone call from this number at my work. The guy said his name was Christopher King. He had a very heavy Indian accent. I could hear background noise which usually means he is in a call room with a bunch of other people. He said the conversation was being recorded. He said I was a primary suspect in a crime relating to fraud. He says he is from Payday Loans and that I owe them $1300.00 for the loan and for legal fees. He said they will filing the case in my county. He had my SSN. He knew I use to bank with Wells Fargo. He wanted to know how much I could pay them "today"I got his contact information and told him I would call him back on Friday. I looked this up and it looks like A LOT of other people have had similar things happen to them and I am just curious what has happened since this has happened to you? A lot of People are saying is a scam. Is is really a scam?I also see others have received phone calls from this same number. They said so****ing about sending my attorneys office some information. They don't know I have an attorney. The only reason I have one is for a car accident I was in abut a year ago. So, I didn't give them my attorneys information, but I did email their office about his. My attorney's office says it sounds fishy. After I got the phone call ym boss (who answered the phone) was inquiring if everythig was okay. He said they told him it was an emergency. I didn't really know what to tell my boss and I dont know what to take from this phone call.
What were the necessary steps your ***her told you about?
I just received a call from a strong accent man, that told me he was with the Dept of Crime Investigations, this has scared me bad, I don't want the law to pick me up, who are they?
I received the call this morning and I must say that I was immediately freaked out espectially when mention was made concerning an afadavit for my arrest! Luckily my dad advised me of the necessary steps to make considering I had never dealt with this type of situation. I am very relieved, as well as disgusted, to find that this was a scam.
I received a call about 3 times from a guy named Johnny Williams, saying he was from the Dept of Crime Prevention; stating that I needed to pay on a Pay Day Loan which I have never received. He even left a msg at my job. Who can I report this too bc this is ridiculous
These guys are certainly not legit! Cussed at me when I said wrong number- thick heavy middle eastern accent-
