Close, they are a third party called BRI I believe.  They aren't RBC Visa.  They send you credit rating information.  A welcome package comes 2 weeks after registration, then a 30 day free trial period.  At any point during those 30 days you can call their toll free number, probably spend half your sanity waiting on the line, and cancel.  And they call at ridiculous hours.  Seemed innocent enough, though I hate how even cell phones are *********d by every call from every business.  It's like Spam over the phone.

this caller has been persistently calling me at least 5 times at day sometimes 5 minutes apart & leaving blank messages on my voice mail. i call the number back in hopes of removing my number from the call list but it always rings busy. i found a number online that someone else used to release their number & i only get a voice message.

It is from Royal Bank of Ca***a Visa.  Offering new insurance plan through your visa.  They give you the option of trying it for 30 days and if you want to keep it you will be billed 69.99 per year.They are determined that they will sell you this plan and do not give up. They constantly call my house, NEVER leave a message. They call from 8 AM till 9 PM or later! I have 2 young kids and they are waking them up daily!!! If it is Grolier, I did purchase books from the 2 years ago, and I paid them in full, then they continued to send me books I did not order and tried to bill me for them (even after I sent them back)!! I have told them numerous times to stop calling me and to remove my information from theur system, yet they still call!! I am seriously considering harassment charges, this is ridiculous!

This is RBC ( (Royal Bank of Ca***a) They say they are making a "courtesy" call. They were informend that this number was listed on the "Do NOT Call LIST" and that they did not have permission to call. Further morewhen I complained that their pesistant calls were annoying and not wanted,I was told to have a good day and they ***g up.That was on Jan 12,2009. They called a***n today Jan 20th 2009?!? Even though they do not have permission to call!?!?

It is a royal pain in the neck getting numerous calls from this number, who fail to leave a message, and can not be reached when I call back seeing the 613-932-3493 number on call display.

The woman on the line said she was from the Royal Bank and wanted to give me credit card protection. I told her I knew this was not a legitimate Royal Bank number and ***g up. I have called the Royal Bank and made them aware of the scam.

After weeks of annoying missed calls and dead air on the other line, I managed to actually get a call from the number with a person on the other line. As many of you have mentioned, the person on the other line informed me she was from the Royal Bank and offered me a protection plan on my VISA, debit card and cell phone.The very odd thing is that I have had my VISA for 8 years and Royal Bank only sends me emails. In 8 years I have never had anyone call me from the Royal Bank. As well, the lady informing me of the protection plan was mumbling. Whenever I have called RBC they have spoke VERY clearly. Also, there seemed to be background noise that sounded unusual.After her rant she asked if she s**** the 30 day trail, and to do so she needed to clarify my address. However, recently I had been notified of a similar scam that s****ed the same way, and I informed her that I was going to call my bank to clearify the situation. She****ured me that it wasnt a scam, because they have a website and a phone number (any teenage with 10 free minutes could accomplish the same thing no*****ays). I told her I was still going to call my bank and she promptly ***g up the phone.I immediately called the 1-800 number on the back of my VISA card. After being transferred to the security department, they checked to see if RBC had infact called me recently. She said that had no record of RBC calling me in the last month, even thought the number has called me 3-4 times a day for the past few weeks. VISA has placed my card number on high alert and will notify me of any charges.My advice is this. Your bank credit card KNOWS your information. If you ever feel unsure about the situation, CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY. They will tell you if they were trying to contact you, and if so, will let you know the situation.Hope this helps. ;)

This is a telemarketing agency out of Cornwall, Ontario named Beautyrock. They have contracts to solicit on behalf of Groliers and Columbia House. They do so by sending a FAX to the company on whose behalf they are performing the telemarketing. They freely admit that they call any given number up to five times per day using an automatic dialer. They also report that they are forbidden by law to leave any kind of message if an answering ma****e responds. Only if a human voice answers will a human agent come on the line to make the pitch.

I think this number is one call center that does many calls for other companys.Sometimes telemarketers, sometimes representing my bank. You can get your name taken off the list or have a "do not call" thing. But be aware that they may call you a***n, if they represent your bank. Then they are technically allowed to call you as your bank, (the do not call list does not apply if you are subscribed to a service of that company. ie, a magazine or your bank).
