I work for a payday loan company and they are telling random people that we have personally hired them which ISN'T true - they are a scam and do not give them information - inface just don't answer the call.

I am receiving calls at work from a PMI Law group.  A man named "Special Investigator Mr James" said he wanted to talk to me about a civil complaint that has been brought to his attention.  I have no idea what this is about.  Aren't there laws governing harassing phone calls at work?

I got these calls too. The real company name is US Family Mortgage located at 27 E Russell Street, Columbus Ohio 43215I am trying to find their fax number and send them a request for proof of the money owed (originator, loan do***ents, signatures, etc..) and also sending them cease & desist contact at work and on cell phone letter.

Investegator Jonathon called and was really rude...She said allright i have had enough i know you are going through rough times right now but we can work this out i know we can. you need to call me and get this taken care of before the civil suit continues a***nst you and michael....She left me no information about the case or where she was calling from just that there was a civil case being filed....

I got the same call this evening--- very nasty. I was so upset I called the police department and they said they cant do this without actually serving you PAPERS. I havent received ANY papers from ANYONE.Its a scare tactic, people. I am contacting the FTC and FBI as well.

They say they are from a PMI Law Group. I put the number in reverse phone look up and it says US Mortgage. They are a collection agency for cash until payday types of companies.

I am recieving phone calls from this number in reguards to a "friend" Kayla(who I no longer speak to as she owes me money and is shady) who now lives in MN for school. Supposidly she took out a loan and put me down as a credit reference unbeknownst to me and now I am dealing with harrasing phone calls. A gentleman stated he was from a law agency and Kayla was involved in a civil lawsuit and they needed her contact information and asked to to pass the message on to her. ***** you, I don't talk to the b*tch anymore, you can call her yourself. If I keep getting harrased I may have to contact a lawyer this is getting RIDCILOUS!

They called my cell requesting payment for a supposed "payday loan" from 2001. Even if I did owe so****ing this is way beyond statute of limitations. They could not tell me the amount. Said that criminal charges were pending a***nst me....BWAHAHAHAHA!!!! I said for what, you can't even tell me how much it's for, lol. When I a***n asked for amount, the name of the company it's for and the address, she put me on hold so long I finally ***g up. This is some sort of bogus debt collection scam. Don't give these people any information and no money!

They called my dad threatening me and said they had a civil case. So I called and Kayth Anderson would not give me the address??? Said it was for instantcash loan from 2006. This is way past any statues. I looked up the company and they are shut down, they are trying to collect on a company that is no longer in business!!!

rcvd a call from these people within 5 minutes of each other said that they are from a cash advance company but would not give me any info as to what they were calling on

Got simular message on my answering ma****e, from Sara Gibson, of civil claims processing, stating that a claim had been filed a***nst me, on behalf of ******x, Hopkins and that I would need to appear in court and that I or my legal representative needed to call 614-586-4174, referencing case # PMI 63900. The message did not even state what state the complaint was in. I though it was a scam right to s**** with. I called the number and gave the case number, they said they were trying to contact ********, Hopkins in referance to a civil case, I actually knew the person they where trying to contact, the person had been a former tenant of mine several years ago. I did not have any contact information to give them. So maybe this time it was not a scam, but I don't know how they got my number.

I got that same call, and a fax of wage garnihsment to my employer. It was for a loan that I had taken out. They set me up on payment arrangements, and I haven;t had any problems with them. I contacted the company that I took the loan out for and they verified that the company is legit. :)

I received 10 phone calls on behalf of my sister, who apparently listed me as a credit reference.  As I work in a legal field, I had some questions.  they left messages re; trying to get ahold of her for a default on a bank loan; then when I finally spoke to someone,they stated bank fraud and that civil suit was being filed.  The other day they left one stating they were trying to serve her.  I refused to give them any information about her.  I told them to stop calling me. I believe that this is a scam of some sort, or worse, a very bad collection agency.  I think they are using scare tactics in order to get $$.. however, I am not entirely convinced they aren't just trying to scam people and make some money.

I know I just received the same type of call tonight scared my family like crazy they left all of this on my answering ma****e. I am a 3rd party collector and if they are a 3rd party agency they are in total violation... I am contacting the attorney general and FTC along with a possible attorney tomorrow. The law is the FDCPA if they are 3rd party all this is 3rd party disclosure and they can be totally sued. You can bet if I find out this is the case they are going to have a fight on their hands.. I have been doing debt collections for over 13 years... !!!!! You can bet any amount that none of my reps would EVER do this I always make sure of it.....

I received a call from PMI stating that I owed money too. O am not paying anything until I get so****ing in writing stating what the debt is. You cant pay so****ing you dont you owe. I am also contacting my attorney.

Lori!!  Calm down!!They are breaking every law in the book if they are calling your parents and cousin and giving out personal business information.  Your business (debt) is no one else's concern but you and the creditor.Report them to your State's Attorney General office and the FTC.

I NEED TO CORRECT THE CALLER IT DOES NOT SHOW PMI ON CALLER ID. THAT'S WHO THEY CLAIM THEY ARE. I HAVEN'T THOUGHT TO ASK MY PARENTS OR COUSIN WHAT SHOWED UP ON THEIR CALLER ID BUT I WILL. THEY CLAIM IF I DON'T HAVE A PYMT IN BY APRIL 3, 2009 THEY WILL BEGAN PROCESSING LEGAL PAPERS. CAN SOMEONE PLZ HELP ME I'M SO SCARED. ANY ADVICE I'VE NEVER EVER BEEN IN ANY KIND OF TROUBLE, OTHER THAN JUST MINOR TRAFFIC TICKET(NORMAL) BUT MAYBE 4 IN MY LIFE TIME AND I'M 45.

I HAVE BEEN GETTING CALLS SAYING I OWE AND I NEED TO MAKE PYMT ARRANGEMENTS. THEY WANT GIVE ME AN ADDRESS. I WAS TOLD TO GO TO WALMART AND PURCHASE A VISA /MASTERCARD AND CALL THEM BACK WITH THE CARD #. THEN THEY WOULD TAKE 146.10 OUT EVERY MONTH WHEN I REFILL CARD. THEY DON'T EXCEPT MONEY ORDERS OR CASHIER CHECKS. bUT SURE WANTED ME TO POST DATE A CHECK. dOESN'T MAKE SINCE SO****ING VERY FISHY IF U ASK ME. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS THEY HAVE MY # MY PARENTS # MY COUSINS# HOW THEY OBTAIN THEM I HAVE NO CLUE!!! TOLD ME IT WAS POSSIBLE BANK FRAUD!!!! WHAT!!!!

They have been calling me also. Some calls com from a Paula Holts who claims to be a Cibvil Lidigator and then they left a message on my brothers phone on Sa****ay and it was from a Paula Smith
