This phone number is a porting center. I was trying to switch a phone number from GreatCall(Jitterbug) to Verizon. The Verizon porting center needed the account passward. I called *611 and spoke with a Verizon rep who then connected to the porting center. This was legit.

Yes it is a legit number from verizon porting dept. I am porting from straight talk to verizon prepaid. They have great deal on iPhone 4 for 99.00 and service for 45. Same as my straightalk. So I switched

This is a Verizon Wireless Customer Care Center based in Tennessee. There are a few numbers they can choose from when they call a customer. All of which are registered with Verizon Wireless like this one.

This is NOT Verizon. After I received a call saying a child has been calling from my number and ****ing up on the customer service reps I called 611. The guy i talked to looked up the number and said it is NOT a Verizon number. This is the second time I've been called and told a child is calling from my number. First time was a male, this time a female. Generally in the past if it is Verizon calling the caller ID will say so.

What a dumb name.  The number is real and is from Verizon Wireless customer service center.

I'm guessing w***ver is saying this is a legitimate # could be "one of them."I received an unexpected phone call from "Verizon" saying they wanted to review my calling plan.  They proceeded to ask for the last 4 of my social.  I told her I wouldn't give that information over the phone, and she ***g up.  I have been a Verizon customer for 5+ years and never received a call like this before.Very peculiar!  Do not give them any information!  A lot of people use Verizon, and a lot of people switch providers.  I think someone is phishing for information... and none of the previous comments has convinced me otherwise.

This # is form Verizon Porting Department. I am swit****g from Helio/****** Wireless to Verizon. They wanted to verify my information before completing Porting (Caring my number) over to Verizon. The call back number was 877-567 4899. This is a legit deal.

This is Verizon, I got a call from them today when trying to port my number over from AT&T. There had been a typo on the initial paper work that they needed to correct to complete the transfer. For those saying they received a call when they have not attempted to c****e service, it probably resulted from an error entering another users request with a similar number that gets mistyped.

This is Verizon Customer Service, and the person I dealt with today was trouble*****ing a billing problem I had with Verizon.  The call from this number was very helpful!

Received call from a lady ...it was the verizon port center....i switched from at&t to verizon and they ported my number to take with me........they were very nice.....

This number is from Verizon Wireless customer service/set-up service. They called me back when we accidently got disconnected while setting up my new phones from verizon wireless. They were very friendly and helpful.

My call history shows an incoming call from this number, but I don't recall talking to anyone with that number

This phone number calls on my Alltel cell phone Service several time a day and actually left a message which was a surprise...It is Verizon and they asking for more info about me in order to c****e the Service even I did not requested anything!!!

Received call from a lady on my SPRINT cell phone wanting addition information regarding cell service.  She said that she was calling from Verizon credit and asked that I call her before 11 pm. When I called the number that was provided I was referred to Verizon customer service who had no knowledge of why some lady called.  Customer service referred me to verizon credit who also did not know why this lady called.  I was told to be careful and that this was probably a scam........  Be careful!

this sounds like a scam but verizon does have a major customer support center in the 615 area code - nashville tenn

Got a call on my Sprint/Nextel cell phone saying they needed more information from me to c****e my service over to Verizon.  I did not request that my service be c****ed.
