I have been getting calls from that Nashville number in Memphis for years. Looks to me like they got that racket down pretty good. My various Memphis cop friends don't even know what that thing is. Besides, they have great benefits, sick pay, cradle to grave everything... I wish I had that job, but I chose self-employed. If I'm sick or somebody *****s me, it's up to me to have made provisions before. PS: it's a thinly veiled SHAKE-DOWN for 'protection money'... the guys even sound like ****** MAFIA. I wonder if they are TRYING to make you uncomfortable and act as though you become 'blacklisted' for not forking over your hard-earned ca***? Tell them, yeah our Memphis officers have great benefits!! And who pays YOUR Nashville salaries???? I bet little to nothing of the money they shake down does what they claim it does. Amazing how this racket can go on for years and years

AS of February 20, 2009, this scam is still on-going as I got a call today.  And I AM on the DNC list....but a *** lotta good that does these days, anymore.  I guess the lousy economy gives people the 'right' to break rules all over the place.And in answer to the comment from above to call  615-862-7594 in Nashville, it didn't help me when I called.  They said file a FTC complaint...big woooo.SCAM!!  SCAM!!  SCAM!!  I pay mightily in city and county taxes--paying for said police protection....I don't need to be 'scared/manipulated' into paying MORE!!Thanks for listening to the RANT!!!!  : )     : (

This same person used to call me all the time I reported it to the Nashville Police department maybe a year ago and I have also reported it to the DNC government. Today this fool called me a***n, he said he helps the police widows and so on. I told him I was on the DNC list he said he didn't care he was a non profit agency and would call any number he wanted to. I told him I was going to call the Nashville police, he said go ahead I don't care. He still kept talking over me and I finally ***g up on him. Once a***n I have reported it to the GOVERNMENT DO NOT CALL PEOPLE, maybe they can stop him. I did investigate him last time and there was a home address outside of Nashville, I believe this is a cell number. HE IS NOT LEGITIMATE, I LIVE IN MEMPHIS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH MEMPHIS. Anyone living in Nashville please call your local police department because ***ody else seems to care, and I did file a report with them before.

I just received a call from the same place. They called before asking for money for the local police. This is a HUGE scam country wide, I encountered them in Philadelphia and San Diego when I lived there. I called and reported to Nashville Metro PD Fraud Dept. Their number is 615-862-7594  If they called you, call them!

Someone from this number called. ***g up when I answered. They have called before when I wasn't home. They never leave a message. Caller ID comes up as Police Protection. 615 is a Nashville area code. I live in Northeast TN, about 6 hrs from Nashville. Obviously some kind of scam but you'd think they'd say so****ing. I've reported this number to my local police department, but they still call every few months.

I have had repeated calls from this number.  When I call the number back I either get an answering ma****e or it says the box is full.  Claims to represent "Police Protection."

When I don't recognize the number and they don't leave a message, I don't pick up so I don't know who it is.  Hahaha

I received the call while I was on another call when I click over they had ***g up.  My caller ID picked up that number and when I called back I got police protection and was sent to a mailbox that was full.
