Leave a CommentSent me a message about a dress I had on Craigslist. SCAM
Said she was Christina from Texas. I posted an add on craigslist to sell our mower. Insistent on paying with a cashiers check from a local bank, even willing to pay $50 more to use a cashiers check and would pick it up locally. Once i caught on to the scam, she switched to texting from a different phone number 443-457-8285
I got the same text message as Tony K from a listing I had on Craigslist, just with different name and out of state location.
I posted an add on Craigslist for a car for sale in Minnesota. They sent a text asking if its available...here is their response: "Thanks for the quick response according to the description, my name is GLORY , i am from (Texas) I'm okay with the price and the condition pasted on Craig. I really wish to be there to see the item but I don't have chance cause I'm a very busy person. My mode of payment would be in cashier check drawn from a local Banks where i will arrange for local pick up as you get the payment"
they sent a text asking me to wire money to some shipper to pick up a generator i had on craigs list
They sent a text in regards to an ad I placed and asked me to send my name , home address, city, state, zip so the could mail a certified bank check that must be cashed at the bank.
Definitely a scammer. They sent a text in regards to an ad I placed and asked me to send my bank information, home address, etc., so the could mail a "certified bank check that must be cashed at [my] bank."
