I've been getting calls from this number for sometime now, but never answered. Today, I finally answered. When I answered, there was so much noise in the background and when I said,"Hello" the lady said, "Hey Johnathan?", Then I was like, "This isn't Johnathan." Then she said, "Well is he around?" Then I replied, "There isn't anyone who lives here with that name.". Then, she hung up. No idea, what's going on.
I've received about a half dozen calls from this phone number with out anybody answering.
I filed a complaint at this link:https://secure.ag.state.mi.us/complaints/consumer.aspxI suggest you all do the same, the phone number 616-980-1154 is registered to:Lucre Inc4011 Plainfield Avenue Northeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49525-1607(616) 361-0128 The complaints and incidents go back to 2009. Because of that A...hole, I had to leave my office and go to my bank, cancel my card and order a replacement.
Called me but left no message. I am screening my calls and I don't answer unknown numbers.
I got a call from this number today. She asked me who handles my electric bill. I was surprised coz I don't pay any electric bill and I told her so. She wished me a good day and hung up.

Here is a great idea on stopping those telemarketing pests.1. Use an answering machine and record the advertisement of a pornographic phone line that costs $xx.00 per minute to call.2. Turn on that answering machine ONLY when you see on your calling ID caller that you don't want to pick up, and this caller is now a pest.3. When the pests call in, they hear the pornographic hot line advertisement to call into a per-minute call. Some stupid telemarketers may just think that this is your new number, and call that pornographic advertisement's number. When the bill comes in for them to pay, it will be very expensive one.4. If you have selective call forwarding, which you can program certain numbers who are pests, to forward them to an pornographic phone line advertisement, they will get the same message as you have recorded on your answering machine, only it will forward the call automatiacally without you need to do anything extra. Many internet phone companies have this selective call forwarding at no extra cost per month. I have it, and I have already placed 7 different "pests" to be forwarded to pornographic advertiser. Ha Ha Ha, they will be very frustrated at themselves to get into this. This is a spiceful tasty idea! Enjoy this fun idea, and tell all your friends/relatives to do the same.Caller ID: AGICaller: AGICaller Type: Telemarketer
I retrieved a voicemail message this morning on my office phone that was from this number and was left at 7:21pm last night. I did not recognize the area code or phone number. The message left just said, "Hello, Susan?" and then hung up after a short pause. There was quite a bit of noise/conversation in the background, so the caller probably did not hear my phone greeting. I have a Master Card for my work corporate card and based on what I've read about this phone number, I suspect some sort of credit card scam.
I received a call today and they sounded so legit! The guy said they were with Visa and they somehow knew the last 4 digits of one of my cards and said they were going to send me a voucher for $120 in gas or something. They said all I needed was to pay $2 something and it was "a win win situation" then when I thought for a second, I said "I'll pass" and immediately they hung up without another word. I am 100% sure they were a scam. Just remember to NEVER pay for anything you're unsure of or over the phone with people you don't know...
Called, left no message. Called every day for a while.
To Hazel M.I don't know if it will work but when they call back demand to know their full name and listen if they stumble, stutter or hang up. Worked for me once.
I recieved a call today(Oct.30,'09) around 7pm. I didn't know the # so I didn't answer. I live in the Pittsburgh suburbs. I wonder if they are targeting this area or is it all over. Boy am I glad I didn't ans. and checked the # out online. Thanks
I have a business and answered this call because I get calls from all over. The woman asked if it was me, and I said "Yes". She asked if I had a MasterCard, I said "No", then she wanted to know if I had a MasterCard debit card, and when I affirmed (without being asked for the pin number or other ID, which I would never give out), she said I was going to get $250. I said "so you want me to look out for the check"? She said "yes", and I said "Okay". I'm thinking this is just the first call that was made to prepare me to give more information after mulling over my expected greed. Anybody have a good retort for next time??? Anybody have a similar experience? The phone company (I checked on 411.com which has a reverse phone number search option) is called Lucre (I thought that was funny--my suspicion is that it does have to deal with some sort of "filthy lucre"!!!) and it's a Grand Rapids, Michigan landline.
I've gotten 5 or 6 calls from this number from 11 am to 6 pm. i dont answer the phone when it's and unknown number and i dont call back unless they leave a message. no messages left. might i add they call my unlisted cell phone
We have gotten four calls between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. today from 2 different numbers; 2 from 1-818-870-9265 (Service Announc) and 2 from this number. They claim they are crediting my Visa charge card. last 4 digits xxxx (which had been canceled last week) $120 for "keeping my account in good standing". I gave them no info.
I got 2 calls from this number, the first call was strange because they were talking to someone else on a different line when I picked up and was kind of yelling at them. She asked if I was me and then said she would have to call me back. Then she called again the next day and said some mess about my credit card number and said she was calling from my Master Card account and they were sending me $100.00 in gas vouchers. I said "no you are not with my credit card company, who are you?". She immediately said there was no obligation and hung up the phone. I tried to call the number back, but got a recording. I don't know how they got my name or the last 4 digits of one of my cards, but it was defiantly unauthorized and I am pretty sure this is a scam. I will be watching for false charges on my account!
I have better than a retort -- I usually say "oh that's great!!" and then ask them to hold for a minute . . . then I put them on hold and go on about my business until they hang up.
I forgot to say I'm not listed so don't know how they had my number, unless they were just searching randomly. Still looking for a clever retort--anybody???
