We just received a call from the same number. 618-203-3444. After getting our hopes up we looked up the number to see where they were located, hoping to get our stolen property back soon. After reading this posting and others for the same number we realized it was a scam. Thanks for saving us the money.

Lost a gold diamond ring in P***nix Arizona and ran ad in local paper. Got a call from a guy named Steve Burris who stated he was a truck driver and paid $ 250.00 for the ring which in fact was worth at least 10K. All he wanted was what he paid for it  and mailing cost. I check the number out and found he was a scammer who had bilked a number of people out of money. His address for sending the money was Evanston, Illinois.

Does anybody else getting calls from this phone number?

same story for me :(  an ad i placed on craigslist for a stolen jacket.  he called me, said he'd call back.  didn't.

The same guy called me about a lost item i placed on C/L.  He asked me to describe it but when I questioned HIM he ***g up on me.. I called him back and he acted like I insulted him... Im sorry but someone who is decent enough to return a lost item wouldnt be insulted if they were questioned.  Glad I had the smarts to know how many scammers are out there.  Its really sad ;(

This man also contacted me in response to an ad I placed in a local paper in Daytona Beach, FL.The ad was in reference to a laptop computer and external hard drive I had stolen and was offering a reward for their recover.He and another older man tried to represent themselves as truck drivers who had been sold the items by another (unknown) person.The man could not provide me with the serial number of the computer but wanted me to describe the item(s) and give him the serial number.He ended the conversation with the promise to call me back and never did.

This guy called me in response to an ad I placed on Craigslist for lost jewelry.  He said his wife found the article, but when I questioned him, he said someone sold it to her. He then said he would call me back in 1/2 hour-never did. When I called the number-(618) 203-3444, there was no message and the mailbox was full.  Don't believe him-he is a liar and a creep.............

Guy is a scammer. Do not send him any money for the return of your lost items. He took me for 150.00
