They want me to enroll in their college and they keep calling me multiple times a day and I want them to stop

Calls from this numerous times per day. Never anyone on the line. Not answering their call only makes them call back more often. How can we tell them to remove our number from their call list if there is never anyone on the line?? Surely there is so****ing that can be done about these intrusive phone calls.

Ive been getting calls for weeks from 623-238-6131. The first time they called a woman asked me about the gas bill. And then asked if fernando lived here. I said wrong number wrong person. And she said im sorry goodbye. Ever since then they have called almost everday a couple times each day. But now no one says anything and they just **** up. I called back and it was out of service. But when I called back and dialed 1 first, it rang a couple times and then just beeped. I had trouble ****ing up the phone after that. It didn't want to disconnect for some reason. I don't know how to get them to stop calling. Any help would be appreciated.

Called 3 times guaranteeing rates of .055 cents

calls every hour, won't leave messages,stays on line until the answering ma****e kicks them off, unable to call back to find who caller is.

i told them to stop calling or i would contact my lawyer, now they call 20 times or more a day and **** up, when i redial number it saids its not in service

calls leaving no message and ****s up before we speak. some complaints say it is telemarketing for gas company. we don't have gas in our area. We won't get gas if this is their policy .

623-238=6131 This appears to be an automated system: when I answer my phone, it just clicks and then reverts to a message "If you'd like to make a call..." I thought this type of calling was now illegal!

When the phone was answered, the phone ***g up. Called it back, they are offering an opportunity for certain areas to save money on their utility bills.

I get four calls a day from 623-238-6131. No messages and when I am home and answer they ****-up. I think that there phone should be disconnected.

Caller at (623) 238-6131 will ring two times after the third ring I will pick up and know-one answers!

I have been receiving calls from this number, ID: UMG 10 times a day for the past 2 weeks! Its getting annoying as there is never anyone on the other end! There is no stopping these people. I want it to end.

Anyone know who this number belongs to yet? It has appeared on my caller ID numerous times but when you answer no one is there.

They call here multiple times a day. Whenever I pick up, there is no response.

You could signup on the Do Not Registry at http://www.donotcall.gov which would make it illegal for them to call after 31 days from the time you register your number.

They none stop call. no matter what I say, I tell them to remove my name from their list and thye still call and call. At some isn't this harrassment . Its my phone number what the hect gives them the right to contniually call me and not respect my wish to not be harrassed about my energy provider choices.

I just received the same call.  They said the call had to do with Direct Energy as well.  My advice to everyone, in addition to registering your phone number with https://www.donotcall.gov/, and that's downloading PhoneTray Free from www.phonetray.com/ (and no, I do not work for this company).  I've been using this program for a very long time and can't tell you how relieved I am to have it.  With this program, you can monitor who is calling right from your computer (must have caller ID for this function), and you can set it up to Zap the calls you don't want.  For all those who worry about the program having problems, let me****ure you that it has been problem free for year, at least for me.  There is never any spyware/adware, and it doesn't have a big footprint, meaning, it's not a big file and doesn't take much of your system's memory at all.Good luck!

I just moved and have had a new phone number as of two weeks ago. So, I just got a call from some southern accent guy asking to talk to the person who takes care of the electric bill. I said they weren't home if i could take a message and he more or less ***g up. I immediately went to The National Do Not Call Registry at https://www.donotcall.gov/ to register my number. Hopefully this works!

called today I live in michigan the caller id says UMG and then the number

I have now received 4 phone calls from this number. I have tried once to answer and ***ody ever responds. I do not purchase anything from the internet or from catalogs and also my phone number is ***nd new! I have had my phone now for about 3 months and the only people who have my number (that I gave it to anyway) is my family or close friends. I hope they stop calling!!! Any advice on how to get them to stop would be greatly appreciated.

When I answered, a woman said she wanted to speak with the person responsible for the gas bill.  When I asked for the name of the person she wanted to contact, she ***g up.

all you guys are pretty strange.. quit buying merchandise and suppling your phone numbers and none of this will happen ..sheee***

i have had 6 calls alone today from this number check it out but it says number area code is arizona.  if this is direct energy i would like to s**** or sign some type of pe***ion this to me is no different than spam email

hello i am located in toronto ca***a and for the past 4 months have been getting repeated calls from the following number.I purchsed call display and find it strange that '1' for long distanceshows up on the local416 number which i reside in.These are the numbers that have been calling me repeatedly and either ****ing up or fronting themselfs asROGERS cable, or some type of Windows/Doors company:1-800-493-13041-866-709-13291-410-774-84061-616-980-25221-888-248-55541-866-319-11181-310-***-6048416-665-13771-416-188-82311-623-238-6131I have searched all these numbers and found all these phone nubmers are reportedly doingthe same thing to other people on the internet.Research has indicated that there is some type of call center that calls people (such as us)and once you pick up someone at their centre also picks up and trys to get some info or isactually hired to sell a product /service. They seem to be doing  a poor job as many timesthey **** up or dont speak, or get confused and just laugh then ****up.This business/es need to be identified so that they can be stoped. I have gotten up to 6 calls a daytotalling 20-30 a week at random times of the day and evening. I've seen many posts on the internetwith people complaining and reporting online of this harassment but have yet to see anything doneWHATS THE NEXT STEP??

this number keeps showing up and i am getting fed up with american telmarketers calling here in ca***a..bell ca***a is not dealing with it asked to be removed and yet still receive calls

This number shows up as a cell phone call several times a day, and I'm still waiting for someone to respond. I wish this call will stop res****ding!!

We received a call a few minutes ago, silence after two greetings from me.  Finally, the person asked "is this Mr and Mrs __________".  I responded by saying yes, then the person ***g up.  If it is Direct Energy, they should identify themselves as such and not create this "stalking" feeling.

It was Direct Energy for me as well offering me a discount on my gas because I have a water heater with them.  It felt very similar to the aggressive door to door pitches that the government is trying to stop.  When I said no she went into the whole well you can save money you are crazy not to sign up.  You could tell she was in a very swamped call center due to the tonnes of noise I heard in the background.

I've been called by this number twice now. Today I missed the call, however I went through my call history... it was direct energy offering me some wonderful deal because I have one of there water heaters.

Same number called me too, today 10/31/07 at 1:46 PM EDT. I answered after the first ring. No one on the line. My Caller ID indentifies the number as P***NIX AZ. I have relatives in the 623 area code, but not at 238-6131. (Coincidentally, my wife and I are traveling next month to P***nix, on tickets purchased from Southwest Airlines, and I have recently received 2 or 3 spam emails from someone urging me to "Use your two tickets on Southwest Airlines," or some such message. I'm wondering if the Southwest Airlines reservation information has somehow been compromised.)

Caller asked for person of household who deals with the hydro bill. Just told them she was not home. No message left.

Nothing.  No message, no person, just silence on the other end of the line.

I received a call this morning from this phone number on my cell phone with no one on the line but it stayed connected.
