Amex collections
I keep getting these calls and I don't have an amex.
fraud
Got a call from this number this morning. Didn't answer. Called it back and the recording said it was AMEX. They asked for my account number.
Call on my cell phone - foreign accent refused to ID self so I ***g up.
harrassing
harrassing and calling numbers not given in account
harrassing...not calling numbers given in account..
I got a call from this number. The person claimed to be from American Express and that they needed to relay urgent info about my American Express account. I don't have an American Express account. American Express would know that.
Just received call a few calls over the past week. I called back didn't give an account number because I don't have an AMEX card. I was then forwarded to a customer service rep who asked for the phone number they keep calling, so they could remove it from the dialing service. The reason you may not have anyone on the other line when they call is because of how the dialers work. Dial many numbers and as soon as someone picks up they send it to a rep. If all reps are on the line you won't get anyone.Seemed relatively legit, but I certainly wouldn't give them anything besides a phone number they already have.
I first got voicemails at my work number saying this was American express and it was an important business matter regarding your account twice. They were looking for a Nicole, so I asked around and the Nicole they were asking for has never worked here. I was intrigued. They called back so this time I answered. They asked for Nicole a***n. I said who is this and what is this regarding. They said "I cannot divulge this information." I said...is this American Express? They they said no...World Financial and ***g up. So then the next day the numerb calls my cell phone and I did not answer. I called my mom in a different state and was telling her about it because I googled the number and all these fradulent posts came up. We ***g up the phone, and they called her number! They asked for my dad...she said he wasn't available then they called her by name and asked if it was her...she said I cannot tell you that information and they ***g up.I dont have an american express card and live in a different state from my parents. STrange.
Received a call from this number today and found this website. Interesting if it's from Amex since I have NEVER had an American Express card. When I tried to call back I got an "All Circuits are Busy" message. Strange.
These ****** *****s keeps on calling at random times disrupting my sleep. They claim to be from American Express looking for some girl name Marcia. I tell them that I don't know who they are looking for and that they have the wrong number but they still call. I get about 3-5 calls a day from them. It's to the point where I'm feeling harrassed and it's getting very annoying!
Keeps calling my cell phone - which I never give out - does not leave messages.
Received a call from this number today looking for my ex-wife. Told them she doesn't live in this state and the guy said he'd use another number. Sounds pretty fishy to me...
What I read about this is interesting. These folks are giving fantastic support to the telephone company. At least ten times a day we get calls from them and when we answer, there is no one there. Further, neither The Church nor anyone with The Church has or would have an American express Card.
I received a voicemail on my cell phone saying they had important information about my AmEx account and to return the call to 800-592-1160 ASAP. I do not have an AmEx account. I called the number and they asked for my acct number, which of course does not exist. They then asked for the phone number on which I received the call. They said the phone number would be "removed from their database."
My family has received calls from this number. I do have an amex but the household number is not listed. I am not sure if these numbers are bogus or what but when I called amex, they told me that every number you call from is stored in their database (even though there are only a few slots to list your contact #s). I may have called amex from the house before while visiting, but its a blocked number!
xpertise, I beg to differ with you. I called the Am Ex number on the back of my card, and was told that the 800-678-0738 number was not an Am Ex number. I called it anyway and they wanted to know my number as well. Reasoning dictates that if they know your phone number, they must also know your name, and if they know your name, then they must know your acount number. So I****ume you are also part of the scam. As I told the **** that answered the phone, get a real job.
This number is legitimate. I called the standard AMEX customer service listed on the AMEX website to report an unknown****entially fraudulent inbound call from 6234926031 that requested a call back to 1-800-678-0738. The AMEX customer service rep looked up the 800 number and found that it was for another AMEX dept. He stayed on the line with me conferenced in the other dept and then dropped off. The AMEX dept****ociated with the 623 number was inquiring about an past due $15 dollar payment which had already been paid.
BE CAREFUL!!! I received a call that was recorded on my voice mail. These folks actually left a message saying that the call was for someone that I did not recognize. Since I am AMEX customer I called to check to see what the call was about. When you call the number above they actually say that it is AMEX and want you to enter your number. I was su****ious and refused to answer some of her questions and asked to speak to a supervisor. She said I had to give her my card number first. I refused and she said she could not help me and actually ***g up on me. I have called AMEX and they were unable to back trace this number. Be careful!!
I kept getting calls from the number 623-492 6031 and the VM left stated that American Express had an urgent business matter to discuss with me and to call them back. I did call back and they immediately asked for my account number and I told them that I have a couple of different accounts and was not sure which one they could be calling about so the person asked for my SSN# which I gave him. After holding he came back and said that they did not know why they called and I ***g up. I still continued to get the calls and when I pick up no one is there. Then I googled the number and found that this number is NOT AMEX and is some sort of a scam!! I them proceeded to place security freezes on my cards & credit reports for protection. I suggest that you do the same if you've fallen victim to this harrasing/su****ious/fraudulent company calls.
Got calls from this number. Said there was su****ious activity on my American Express card. I followed up by calling directly to am expr. It was real. Someone on the west coast was trying to use my "card". Am Exp denied the attempts and called me. I cancelled the card. Thanks American Express.
I got a legitimate call from AmEx. It was about some su****ious activity on my account, and was corroborated by emails from AmEx at the same time. (The activity was legitimate, but I understand why it threw up some flags.)Ignore this one at your own risk.
I answered a call from these people they were recording the phone call with out my permission. From the minute I answered the phone call was being recorded no automated person saying this call is being recorded just a continous beeping.
Received unsolicited call and they ***g up upon questions
Just got a phone message from this number, it sounds like a foreign man saying" this is zavordi safari" or so****ing, then there was a ringing tone followed by an american accent saying -"This is the American Express Iden***y protection team, this is not a sales call, please return this call at 1 888 800 5234 or by dialing the phone number on the back of your card, our normal hours of operation are mon-friday 8am to midnight eastern time, sat, 8-11 and sun noon-11 eastern time, please call us back at your earliest convenience."This sounds like someone phfishing to me.
these people keep calling amex and I have no issues with my card I just checked with the representative. Sounded really fishy.
these people keep calling i do not think they are amex
i have reported this to amex. These people called me and were very unprofessional in asking me my personal information. They first called my cell, then my work phone number, and they knew how long I have had my account wiht amex. I dont want to know what else they know....
Just got a call from 6234926031 and when I answered no one was there. Out of curiosity I googled the phone number thinking it was a telemarketer only to find out that it is a company trying to get AX credit card info. I turned my AX statement over to a credit counseling service a few weeks ago and no longer even have the card much less use it. The voice was a female's with a foreign accent. She hasn't called back yet.
Just got the call from the complaint number 623-492-6031.Call ID text said 602-537-9012, a pathetic attempt at call masking. They did not leave a message.
I got a call from this number this morning. Sounds like thet are related to Amex, but some sort of information collection agency for them. They asked first for the payment, (which was quite small), then asked for an update of my employment information: where do you work, for how long, do you own your home, do you own a business, how much do you make, etc. Recently I stopped using my card much and I think they just want to know why a cardholder would do that.

Two calls were received today, 5/1/08, asking for a Mahmden Ahmed - or so****ing close to this as it was*****ounced differently each time. Must be bad info from their customer as this is a work phone issued to me several years ago as a CA State employee. At least now I know why they seemed ready to bite my head off, maybe I just don't sound like they expect their client to sound. I answer with my name, office and State Department which threw them a moment, then they asked for 'Mahmden' and I advised each that this State work phone was issued years ago, etc etc. Each said 'sorry' and ***g up.
missed the call and when i called back it said it was american express.asked me immediately for my account number for collectionthought it was fishy, since i am not past due or late ever, and went to amex website and didnt find the number there.be weary.
a call from amex was received.........thought it was odd i was asked for verification of my card #.....looked online @ my amex account & it does say it's suspended...will call the number on the back of my card to find out what happened to the payment i transfered to them on monday.....so****ing just doesn't seem right......why doesn't an 800 # show up instead of this 623#??
yea its amex! they there money LOL
I answered this number and they wanted to speak to my EX-husband. I said "He does not live here." and ***g up. The man called right back,(a foreign accent)and I said, "what do you want? I told you he doesn't live here. He said, "I know,....(unintelligable)you ***y baby!" I told him, "Shut up you ****** idiot" and ***g up. I am incensed about him calling me back and behaving in a threatening manner.
they say that it is a message for someone i don't know and then an automated message follows. who do i call to remove?
Received a call from this number. It appears to be a collection agency for Amex. We have a past due amount (because the dumbos did not bill us). Now there are late fees. But, there is no way I will call the 1-800-592-1160 number and give someone my account number. Chancey.
