John sounded automated; he s****ed talking immediately after I said*****o. I did not reply when he asked if he could ask a couple questions and he said "if someone is on the other end, I can not hear hear you so I will try a***n later."
NOT MY WORK PHONE. I AM ON THE NO CALL LIST... OH YEA, NOT A SALES CALL.
someone called me from this number but i was in school so i didnt know who it was.
Filed a complaint with the National Do Not Call registry. I have my phone listed on this site as a do not call number. https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
I had a missed call from this number I didn't recognize. Found this site; very annoying that they are able to cir***vent the DNC registry based on this technicality (it's not a sales call). If they are calling to tell you to see the movie, it's sounds like they are "selling" it to me. Hopefully the government steps up and squashes this or pretty soon everyone will be doing it. "I'm not selling Product X, I'm just calling to see if you've tried it. If you do try it and don't like it, I'll send you a free Product Z". *Sigh*
Just got the call, didn't answer, no message left. I never answer calls from numbers I do not know. Isn't the Velveteen Rabbit the book Joey got Chandler's girlfriend on Friends?
I just called the number back and spoke to "John's supervisor." I asked her if she was a recording or a real person, and she said that they do use a recording but that she was real, monitoring the call. I asked her how my number got on the calling list, and she switched it over to an automated response saying that since it is not a sales call, they are able to dial all combinations of numbers (so they're not calling from a list). That makes sense, but it's still pretty annoying.
receiced call and when "John" was informed that this number was on the no call list he asked if he could back at a better time. Its time to terminate these actions.
Why is it that I put my number on the national do-not-call list and the next thing I know, I get a call from this number. I didn't answer, but called from another line and after two rings there was silence on the line until I ***g up. I had no idea what the call was for or who it was from. Glad to find this site and find out what it might have been. I certainly won't answer if the call comes through a***n; I'm not wasting my precious paid minutes for a telemarketer or someone advertising a movie that I will probably see for myself.
didn't recognize the number. didn't answer. no message left.
This is a scam. It is a pre-recorded message that keys off of commonly asked questions or challenges. Try asking "john" is he saw the movie, he then answers "yes." Then ask him if it was better or worse than the book, and since he is unable to respond to subjective questions (where the answer is not yes, no or some pre-recorded answer) the call is terminated. My cell number is also on the DNC registry! This can't be legal, and the producers of the movie should be hit with a class action suit.
Got the same call and ***g on long enough to figure out it was an automated system, not a real person. VERY convincing though. I threw it a few curve ball questions and tripped it up.
Received a call from this number. Caller identified himself as "John" and asked if I'd mind answering a couple of questions about a new movie, Quickly attempting to reassure me it was not a sales call. I informed him he called my cell phone and he was to remove the number from his list. The caller ***g up. Calling a cell phone for promo purposes doesn't make me very happy. I do not give my number out and the number is included in the do not call list.
Guy name John called from the number. Talked about a movie called "The Velveteen Rabbit" being released in theatres and guaranteed that if I didn't like it they would send me a free dvd. He asked if I would be interested in seeing the movie. I told him no and he let me go.
I got a call from this weird number and I was wondering who it was?!?!?They asked me to answer a couple of questions but I ***g up
I just got the same call...but I ***g up on them before I could hear the name of the movie. I'm sorry...I'm not sure how they got my personal CELL phone number, but I wasn't happy about it.
This isn't really a complaint---just googling the number to check it out. Very polite man called to tell me about a new movie, The Velveteen Rabbit. Personally loved this book as a child so excited to see it in theatres.
Movie producers calling to advertise their new movie The Velveteen RAbbit. An interesting way of advertising, but it was effective for me anyway. I think it is so****ing my kids will enjoy.
I got a call from this number about the release of a new movie. I guess this is their way of advertising. They told me about "The Velveteen Rabbit" movie being released in theatres and guaranteed that if I didn't like it they would send me a free dvd. I googled the movie and found a website. It looks good.
