(Cont. Part 3).... A few hours later my phone s****ed series half ring ****-ups, maybe 20-30 calls.... I finally called my daughter and asked if she'd been calling. She told me the phone kept going directly to voice mail. I then called the telephone company. The representative couldn't figure out what was going on. Then I remembered the young mans call and related it to the customer service rep. He told me to immediately ****-up and dial 73# (pound) and he'd call me right back... When he called back he explained that an inmate had called and had me forward all my calls to the 626-606-7213 which in turn would accept collect calls at my expense.

Con't..... I had him repeat the phone number and the instructions. "So I'm to dial Star 72 then 1-626-606-7213 and ask for Jason, correct". He thanked me profusely and told me his name was Edward. When we ***g up I called the number and a man answering told me I'd dialed incorrectly. I thought I'd mis-dialed so I tried a second time. This time when I dialed the *72 all I heard was a busy signal, so I dialed the 626-606-7213 without the extension. I reached the same man. I then called the Sheriff's office inquiring about the little boy. The first Deputy I spoke with said he hadn't seen a little boy and no one had been arrested fitting that description. He then transferred me to another deputy in lock-up and he told me no one had made any calls in the past few hours and there was no little boy being held for pick-up....

I received a collect call from Global Tel Link 713-981-0098 which is the carrier for the Los Angeles Dept. of Corrections.... The young man (sounded 20's-30's) asked for Aunt Carol and said he was arrested for a traffic violation and was at the Sheriff's Dept. (local to me). They had him in custody and were getting ready to transfer him to Metro and he needed someone to pick up his son Nathan before Child Protective Service took custody of the little boy. When I told him he'd reached the wrong number he asked me if I would please call his brother Jason at work and ask him to pick up Nathan. He gave me a telephone number and an extension; 626-606-7213 ext *72. He said in order to call I needed to put in the extension first before I call the number..... (Cont)
