received an agressive call to my elderly parents.  They were asking for police and firefighter donations to help the children of these organizations.  They would only accept my mom's visa.  I got on the phone and said 'no, we only contribute to Park Ridge, il police and firefighter organizations.  She demanded to know if I had the right to make these decisions for my parents-really none of her business-I told her to take their number off the calling list.  She said no, she would call next year.

Years ago my wife ripped on me for buying a "Te***apper" off an infomercial. It has turned out to be one of the best things I ever did. When you pick up the phone it sends a signal to the dialing computer that your number is no longer in service and it should be deleted. If it's a friend or person, you just s**** talking like normal. After about three weeks the unsolicited ‘computer dialed' marketing calls dropped to almost zero. Today it happens once and I don't receive another call from that number. Check it out. You can get then cheap if you search the Internet. Good luck.

I have this number on my caller id several times,here is the deal:I lost my brother to cancer on april 11th and I got a call wanting a donation for ****** cancer a week later.I agreedto send a check.That is all it took,I get calls everyday people asking me for money.

They called a***n today says its Fraternal Police needing money... Told him no and ***g up.  They even had our names!

I got this call and listened to about 30 seconds of the "pitch".  I interupted him and told him I was unemployed and he ***g up.  I had my home phone forwarded to my cell, so I did not get the caller ID text.

same issues as all above.  Just tell them you and your number are actually a "plant" to catch people stealing others money and they are being monitored by the "US Attorney" office of Consumer Fraud.  If they say anything about police just s**** yelling"what your going to come to my house and arrest me"? "what, if I don't do what you want your going to come to my home with a search warrant".  cut them off and make sure you get those words in and they will not only get really ****ed but very concerned.  If everyone who reads this board does this they will see they have in fact been made and are under federal investigation.  remember they called you so you really can say anything you want, even if they say call is recorded.  In  these tough times everyone who has your name and number has sold it at very cheap prices, they will never admit it but its your financial instutions, employers health carriers, phone and internet firms, credit cards, you name it, all they need is a name with a number.

Have received numerous calls from this number. answered twice and said I was not interested and they continue to call several times a night. They asked for me by name and stated were with the Ill State Police doing fundraising.

Have been getting these calls for 3 days now, several times a day. Caller ID just says "downers grove" 6304274747.  I know ***ODY in Downers, so have never answered. Each time, the message is static and background voices. Today it was THREE times. By law, they can only call you ONCE if they leave msg. Keeping an open line w/ static or background noise is "leaving a msg" to me!  So far it is only left on landline. I am calling my provider to block this from coming through at all. I think if everyone did that, it should certainly spoil their day after awhile.

Heard the phone ring did not reach it in time. Looked at caller I.D and it was the aCbove number. This was not the first time we received a call from this number. They left no message. It's annoying.

This number is calling my house regularly.  Except that I not home when it calls.  However they did call me at 3:15 in the morning last week and scared me to ***** because I thought it had to be an emergency.  I didn't get the phone picked up in time and missed the call. It was the first time I got a call from them.

Ok I received a cal from these dirt bags a***n and this time I picked it up. He asked for a phony name who I've never heard of. I then asked who he was and he said he was collecting for the Illinois State police. I told him I had turned them in to the FTC and would be doing it a***n. He said the Attorney General gives them permission to call even if not on the do not call list. I gave him a few choice words and where to shove it and filed a complaint with the FTC.These people violate several laws and need to be prosecuted.

Got a call from this number today. person asked for my wife, I told them she is not available. The lady then ***g up. I dont know any one from Downers Grove.

Answered call from this number.  No one answered.  I just heard a lot of background noise.  Called it back and got a message that my call could not be completed.

Get several calls from this number everyday. They don't leave a message. Try to call the number back and they say it is disconnected.

i just googlemaps this area and it looks to be a bunch of tractor trailors in front of a building look for yourself on googlemaps.com then type in this 11216 Lemont rd, Downers Grove, IL 60439 thats there address

they call and said that where doing a fund raiser for il.state police and wanted to talk to my wife.I told them we can't help .the guy replied this doesn't concern me .i told him don't call back any more;that night they call a***n and played it like they have a disgrunted employee .the next day they call for ammu*****t i guess .i hope someone put a hefty fine and shut these guys down permently.

I get phone calls from this number everyday, but they never answer, they just **** up, then when I call it back it says "the number you have reached is not in service this is a recording". Shouldn't this be illegal?

Got 5 calls from this same number just this evening.  I finally answered.  The man asked for "Ronald."  Absolutely NO ONE calls my husband by that name.  That's a dead giveaway that it's either a sales call or a solicitation.  I didn't even answer him but asked that we be removed from their call list.  The caller was rude, yelled at me that yes, he would remove my name from his call list.  What is our recourse a***nst these ****s?  This was NOT a local area call.  We live in 618 area code, not 630!

FYI - This appears to be a telemarketer working fundraising for various "non-profit" organizations. Non-profits are exempt from FTC NDNC restrictions. The only way to****ure you are not called a***n is to advise the caller directly... What works for me is:"Please remove my number/name from your call list - effective immediately."Companies have a limited timeframe to update their records and remove your info. If calls are received beyond that limit; FTC website includes option for filing complaint.

They called, asked for my husband, would not say who they were or what it was about - just "courtesy call, we'll call later." They ***g up before I could tell them not to call a***n, that it's not his phone. They have called numerous times since then, don't leave a message, and there's no one on the line when I have answered. I'm trying to find out who they are.

I keep getting calls from these place daily at around the same time.  Keep asking for the guy to leave a message, but never does.  Guy is very rude.  Can hear a lot of background noise and laughing with other people.  Searched the number and came back to a place in Downers Grove, IL and is listed as a buisness, but no name is listed to the buisness.  Gald to know that other people are being harassed by these people as well.

I have received a couple of calls from this number and they left no messages. On the notes on this site suggest the Illinois State Police. The Illinois State Police by law cannot make calls wanting money, these are scam artist at work. If anyone can get some information contact the Illinois Attorney General in your area and let them investigate it.

I just got a call form them. Listed as "local area call" . Didn't answere and let the ma****e take it and they left no message. I would advise everyone who gets thes calls from these ****s file each and every one of them with the ftc. go to FTC.gov and to the do not call page and on the left under file a complaint file one. I file on every call I didn't solicit.

Got a message from this number, sounded like just a background noise, like a cell phone in a car. No message left.  Caller ID said " Local Area Call". If someone else called it back and got a disconnected message, obviously someone is phone phreaking from this number and it should be suspect.

Just had a call from this number but no one was there.  It rang long enough it may have gone to voice mail but they did not leave a message.  At the least it's a telemarketer I'm not interested in.  Won't be answering this call.I do believe they are getting my number from CareerBuilder and other such sites because the calls began after I posted my resume.  They better not s**** calling my cell or they'll be meeting my little friend, Mr. Whistle in their ear.  That really does tend to make them not call me back.  ;-)

MESSAGE WAS LEFT FOR ME STATING THEY WERE FROM THE DOWNERS GROVE POLICE DEPT.WHEN I RETURNED THE CALL ONLY MINUTES LATER, I RECIVED THE DISCONNECTED MESSAGE. I LOOKED UP THE DOWNERS GROVE POLICE DEPT AND CALL. THEY ADVISED THIS # DOES NOT BELONG TO THEM.
