Leave a CommentThey JUST called me from 631-470-3626 and said I won a prize--I pretended I was SO interested because I knew it was a scam, than I just ***g up when she said I only had until tomorrow to redeem my prize in Saddlebrook, NJ....no, thanks! I did sign up with David's Bridal and if they did sell my information, I'll be really livid. I won't buy anything from them, and I'm a professional writer who will smear them all over the place if they continue to sell personal information to 3rd party companies.
I got the same call. I have been looking online at David's Bridal as well. I asked the woman up front, what was the prize we won, and HOW MUCH IS IT GOING TO COST US. I knew it sounded like the come here our sales pitch, buy our stuff and maybe we will give you a cheap gift in return kind of deal. They said we won 2 days/ 3 nights at the hotel of our choice, $1000 grocery card (with coupons, so not actual money, just discounts), and 20 to 40% discount off their houseware products. The presentation is suppose to be about 90 minutes.
Of course I got the same call three days ago. I called back this morning and it just kept ringing so I googled it. Has anyone actually picked up when they called and talked to someone? And if they are not trying to sell us so****ing what is the point? I live near this area code and I called 411 and nothing was listed! STRANGE!!!
Same deal as all the other reports...said I won a bridal package blah blah blah...did not call them back because fortunately I googled it first. I a******ught my dress from david's bridal and am on the the knot...been on the knot longer and never recieved calls, I have a ***ch that it is davids bridal. that really ****es me off!
I never win anything so I knew this was too good to be true when I got this message. I got a call from a Claudia telling me I won a bridal package to call her back at 631-271-2025 ext 1620, they would only hold my winnings for a limited time so to call back soon, and I didn't feel right doing so, so I gave the number to my older sister who is a wedding planner and would know more about what it was then me, and decided to google the number cause I couldn't understand what company the woman said on the phone, but Im glad I did... I recently entered so****ing to win at Davids Bridal, it has to be them, I have never had any trouble with the knot. You can guarentee I know where I am NOT buying my dress....This is sad that they would target engaged couples and get their hopes up like this...
I recently got a call from Shana with Sheffield Bridal she said to call her back at (631) 271-2025 x5019. I thought it was weird so I decided to google it before calling back, thank goodness. I'm not sure how they got my info, but I do know the only contest I had entered was with David's Bridal. I wonder if the other people who posted also entered a contest at their website.
Thanks to everyone else who posted here, I'm glad I googled the number before calling back. Definitely a scam. Someone I used to date got taken for one of these and yes parts of the trip were "free" but you paid more in other ways than you would have to book & select places on your own. I got this call after attending a bridal show, but I don't remember giving my phone number to anyone except a couple local bakers. I think it could have been Davids Bridal selling the info as well. I also got a call from Mary Kay cosmetics "through a partnership with David's Bridal" so that proves they do SO****ING to sell or distribute our information. Like one other poster wrote, the woman "Cassandra" leaving the voicemail to me seemed to INTENTIONALLY blur the name. Sounded like "Bridal department of Sheffield Brides".
i also got this call from a janetta in bridal to call her back at 631-271-2025 ext:8405. i looked it up in the net in this place is in new york addres is 33 walt whitman RD STE LL3 ***tington Station NY 11746. i actually called back and they said that she was gone for the day but she will return my call. but thats good i now this now.
Same as the rest of you.Claudia called, call back at 631.271.2025 ex. 7877. I "won" a bridal package and needed to call back within a limited time. She really blurred the words, though, so I couldn't understand quite what bridal company she claimed to be with. But I am on the knot & david's bridal list. I googled the numbers, so I haven't spoken to them.
I'm a bridal consultant and received a call that said I had won some prize. She said my name was picked out of all the registered guest from the show. Her name was Joanne at ext. 8271 but the # on the caller ID was 631-470-7339 and she left #613-271-2025 when I called It just rang until the fax ma****e finally came on. I thought my current clients could receive so****ing nice instead my time was wasted. so sad!!
I just recieved a call from Danita whose ext. was 8701. I tried calling back because my fiance and I were really interested in the trip lol but luckily I don't have long distance. So to Krisee...... what happened when you went to the LA Bridal show? Because we still may go just to find out for ourselves if it really is a scam.
Has anyone had any luck with getting them to stop calling? Does it work when you ask to be taken off their list?
Same as everyone above. I recently got engaged and just received a phone call and voicemail from Alyssa at that number saying that my fiance and I had "won a bridal package." I googled the number and found this site. I also haven't attended any Bridal Shows so I agree that it must be David's Bridal or theknot.com selling info. Guess I didn't read the fine print when registering to these sites? So far I've only received one call, but if I receive another I'll ask to be put on their Do Not Call list. Hope it works!
Received a call from Lekia about "winning" a bridal package and trip. She stated that she could only hold the prizes for a limited time, and to call her back. The number she left on my answering ma****e was 631-271-2025 ext 5349. My fiance asked me if I thought it was a scam, and I decided to google it. You guys just saved us a lot of time.
I received a call from 631-271-2025 about winning "a bridal package, which included some trip". Her name was Marie and she said she was from 21st Century. Thank goodness for google and being able to find that this truly is a scam! I had recently visited David's Bridal to s**** shopping for my wedding gown, so I too****ume that is where they obtained my phone number. Where may we go to complain about this and stop the calls??
Here is another # that appeared on CID two hours before...
Same calls...two messages in one day today. I'm going to jump to the conclusion that it's David's Bridal because I never entered my cell # anywhere on theknot.com.Since I purchased my gown at David's, I have received call after call from people trying to offer me "free gifts". Where may we go to complain about this and stop the calls?
Same as Kelsey above. I recently got engaged and just received a phone call from Johanna at that number saying that my fiance and I had "won a bridal package." Since I'm always leary about things kind of calls, I just asked for her number and I would call back when I had time. Instead I googled the number and found this site. I also haven't attended any Bridal Shows so I agree that it must be David's Bridal or theknot.com selling info.
I have recently gotten engaged and received a similar phone call from Lucy at 613-271-2025 x6702. I tried calling the number but it just rings. I'm glad I looked this up on the internet and saved time. The thing is that I haven't attended any Bridal Shows so it must be David's Bridal or theknot.com selling my info.
I received a call on Sa****ay from a woman named Melissa who said I won a prize. I called back on Tuesday and she was not in at the time of my call. I googled the name and found this site. I am so glad I did. I will not be calling her back.
i was coming from my lunch when a "Carolina" from 21 century called me to informed me that i had won a bridal trip and free suff i was like well im at work so call and leave a voice mail.. but see i work for an attorney in CA and i know scam when i see it.. so she won't be getting a call back from me!!
I got a call from Nina at a similar number. I googled the company "21st Century RP Brides" and it is a total scam. Go to www.ripoffreport.com and you can read other people's stories on what happened to them. They will not give you the trip, it's a trick to get you to go and spend money. People keep saying that they were registered or bought their dresses through David's Bridal, so apparently they sell your information with scammers! Why not, you don't have to believe anyone, go and good luck if you decide to try it!
So it seems to me like everyone who's claiming it's a scam is just skeptical. ***ody who's commented here has even tried it, so I say, what's the harm in checking it out? I'm sure it's not as glorious as they market it to be but, come on, I'll sit through a boring hour long cook wear show if it means I get a free hotel stay in Hawaii.
"Arlene" must be a very busy lady. I just got the same spiel as the rest of you. Ughhhh!! Makes me so angry!! I wonder if these same women calling warn their own daughters about people like themselves!!
wow i just got a voice mail from Lakena..lol. i was really excited until i tried calling the number back and no one answered. so i came here and what do u know it was a scam. thanks guys.
thank you so much for this update, i just got a call from joann who said i won FREE trip. i'm gald i looke up the number
I am so glad that I googled this, complete SCAM. They called my was told to call back Joanna at another number 631-470-7338.
I just got a voice mail from them. I thought it was a little weird and decided to check it out before I called them back. I'm glad I did: SCAM!!
They called me as well! Her name was Cally and they said they could only hold my prizes for a "little while". It sounded like a scam and I am glad I checked it out!
This is a total scam. I haven't even gone to any Bridal expo yet or sent my name into any gift packages. They probably get your name when you sign up to view websites or to ask for info packets. I received a call from Angela in the Ontario area. My area code is not even near the Ontario area. It's a good thing that I looked up this number and see that I'm not the only receiving this phone call.
I had Jenn call but I didn't call back either. I'm tempted but I hate getting into arguments with those people. I'll pass on my Bridal Package and Trip for now.
I just want one person who has gone and listened to their spiel!!!It's in my area and I'm almost tempted to go. What's the worst that could happen? I'll wake up in a bath tub full of ice to find they stole a kidney? Cmon!
Thankfully I do a search for all the random phone calls I'm receiving about "winning" prizes for brides. This one was from a girl named Jenn and I'm so glad I didnt bother calling back and checked online first!
I received the same call a few hours ago...I could barly understand the message and thank goodness I googled the number before calling bac**** I received my message from Samantha. I will not be calling them bac**** Thanks everyone!!! ;-)
Also got a call saying I won from a bridal expo in Manhattan. Glad I saw this before I bothered to call back. Thanks.
Thank gawd I just looked this number up...before calling "Eileen" back about the "trip I won". Thank you everyone!
A scam!!! Gina Marie called from 21st Century Bride saying I won a trip. I looked up their web site which will tell you about this "free trip" and $500 voucher for each the bride and groom. You just need to read the fine print to understand that you and everyone they want money from "won" this trip.
Thank goodness for the internet, it saved me from wasting my time with the scam. I got a call from Elizabeth in the Awards Center telling me that I had to call 631-271-2025 x5534 to receive my prize. My fiance and I attended the LA Bridal Show, so there's no way to know which vendor sold my info.
I got a call from Samantha telling me I won bridal package and trip. I saved the message becuase it was late when they called. I forgot about it until today. I called the number back and when I asked to speak with Samantha I was asked what city and state I was in and what my name was. I told the lady and she came back and said that I had won soemthing but last night was the their last night in Jacksonville, so the prize is on hold until they come back to Jacksonville. Not really sure what this is all about but I did some "Google" research on the 21st Century Today's Bride ( that is the name of the company she was calling from) and everything i found said SCAM!!!!
Definitely sounds like a scam. A woman named Arlene called and said I won a prize after attending the Bridal Expo in LA (never a***n). When I called back they were so *****y that I ***g up. Talk about selling our info to every wedding vendor in the country, these bridal expos are ridiculous.
