Leave a CommentI rec'd the following e-mail --To Whom It May Concern:I am working with some of the largest employers and teacher****ociations on Long Island like The****ociation of Muni****l Employees (AME), , SODEXO at Computer****ociates, BERA(Brookhaven National Laboratories), and The Suffolk County Correction Officers****ociation. It’s approximately 25,000 employees across Long Island. I am looking for a Home Builder that some of their employees can go to and save money. Someone left me VM that said they had received my info from State CPA Society. Claimed they are looking for someone to provide tax services to employees of local hospital. I've seen this number come up before on my screen. Person calling had hint of Indian (the country) and gave an 800 number to call-just like the first post here. I WON'T be calling back after reading this.
Just received a call from this number. Regardless of the intention of this company, the mere fact that I had to research it doesn't impress me and frankly is a waste of my time which I don't have enough of. Do you? I looked on the perkcard website and I don't see "Life University" anywhere, or at least it's password protected. Sorry. You're not getting a callback from me.
Nice try Nick. I have spoken with you, and you are NOT "extremely courteous and sincere."
I am not sure why everyone says such bad things about this company. i too was called by Nick and he was extremeley courteous and sincere. He was very informative and was never pushy. In fact it is now 6 months later after we decided to offer our employees these discounts and he still calls to see if there is anything more he can do for us. I understand everyone has different experiences but what you are saying is nothing at all like the person we spoke with. We plan on continuing our relationship with them for years to come. Our employees love the cards and we even able to help suggest local businesses they wanted. We have received several letters of thanks from businesses in our community thanking us for the influx of business in this unstable economy. I am very happy.
Got a call from Abe Delgado from 631-***-4613. When I wanted to call him back he gave me a different number to call. Said he wanted to use our company's service for all of Sibley Memorial Hospital's employees. Wanted $795 up front. He hadn't done any research on our company, said he was picking us out of all the other companies he contacted. Thanks for the above posts for pointing out this scam.
I also received a call from this same number this morning. Said she was represent the Safeway stores and they wanted her to provide a list of services that could be offered to the Safeway employees at a discount. She also kept me on the phone almost 30 minutes before dropping the ****sheel that Safeway wasn't paying for this service and wanted $795.00 to parti****te.
Just got a call from this number, from Robert, claiming to be****ociated with East Bay MUD, the water and garbage department of the East Bay in the San Francisco area. They claimed to be part of their events department and wanted to get in touch with someone from Premiere Eventworks (my company) regarding the possibility of planning events for EBMUD. The number to call them back at was an 800 number.Thank goodness for all the feedback that has already been left. Because of the above feedback, I'll be sure to not call them back. I have no idea how they are getting away with throwing names of big companies, private or public, around for their own benefit. Beware when dealing with anyone from this number.
My company has recieved several calls from this number (last one on 9/20/10), from an individual named Nick representing PerksCard (www.perkscard.com) which is also a subsidiary of Augeo Affinity Marketing, Inc. I was tasked with pursuinig this.Nick was pit****g their service to our company, where we would distribute "Perks" cards to our employees (~2800 people), which when presented at local businesses and national franchises, would get discounts. Nowhere in their presentation or contract does it states a slection process of limiting which vendors are listed, just that they are tons of local and national business and we could even request Perks to look into adding ones not part of their network. This comes with no cost to our company; however, part of ther contract states:"In order to advertise discounts available to COMPANY NAME employees, COMPANY NAME agrees that “Perks” has the right sell ****e to pariticaptint local business on all printed PerksCard and on www.perkscard.com the funds from which may be received in thre form of commission and as payment-in-full for all production costs and services offered.""The undersigned agrees to the use of the COMPANY NAME for press releases during the term of agreement.”It appears from my research, that "Perks" targets very large reputable companies (like my own and I've seen Northrop Grumman on other sites like this), with their service for no cost. They then use these company's names in their sales pitch to vendors, in an attempt to legitimize their company, and to also have "proof" that there is a sizeable audience that will see the vendors name. Their dealing with vendors does not seem as nice as their delaings with the name ***nd companies which I am not surprised by how pushy they were with us in getting a response back to them. From what I've read online they withhold costs, and will lie by claiming they will be the only one listed for their service. All in all, there is enough negative information on about this company that I would suggest people do enough research before agreeing to anything.
Just got a call from them today. I spoke with Ann Sabath (the last name might be a little off, but that's what it sounded like) - she gave me this number to call her back when I wanted to switch lines.800-727-3757 - ext. 106The company is in New York - and the number that showed up on my phone was 631-***-4613.She said she was calling because she was working with Boulder Labs who were offering an incentive program to their employees to purchase services from outside businesses. She asked me to commit to giving a discount, and then she wanted me to send her a bio and agree to write articles for their quarterly newsletter - on top of asking me to pay $795 for a year long listing, with no stats about how many people actually hire the businesses on the list, or a trial period, etc. I didn't find out about the fee until I was on the phone with her for 30 minutes, and when I told her that was too expensive she stopped being nice and s****ed berating me about how I was missing a great opportunity. Uh-huh, sure.I mean, it's not unlike any lead generation company, but their sales technique is so aggressive (and apparently dishonest, too - because she said someone I trust referred me to them - and I later found out she did not even know about them) that it makes me think that they really don't have much to offer, and are hoping that people will take the gamble, spend this money, and not tell their friends when it doesn't work out. Well, they didn't count on me and my big mouth. Beware of this company and their tactics.
I just got a call from this phone number.
