Leave a CommentMy wife just got this call & renewed over the phone. I called AAA to confirm, and they did indeed confirm the renewal process. So, it appears legit, as unprofessional and creepy as the call does seem to be . . .
Got a call from this number on my cell, but I ignored it and googled the number instead. Found this forum, and I'm glad to know what the deal is with the phone number. Thanks for posting your comments (except for "you idiots", who's just acting rude, imho). If your phone has a feature where you can block the number, I'd suggest you do that; it's the first thing I did after reading the comments posted here.
DIDN'T YO MOMA TELL YO NEVER TO GIVE OUT YOUR C/C # OVER THE PHONE ???
I got a call from this number, and made the mistake of telling them I'd renew. I gave my credit card number, but afterward so****ing didn't seem quite right. I googled the number and found this forum. So I canceled my credit card (a bit of a pain, but worth it to avoid any problems!) so they'd be unable to charge it. Do not make my same mistake!
I am currently on the phone with one of the representatives from AAA - thru the 1-800 number.. he confirmed that they have an outsourced company that ropes in new customers for the company. They are not supposed to call current members and ask for renewal. This outsourced company must be all out to make renewal seem like new customers some how in their system.AAA is tryin to get this thing resolved. It is not spam. But I would never give my credit card information on the phone to anyone.I'm sure there are a lot of people out there.. who cud use some extra credit.
They have called me a few times now after I let my AAA membership expire. When they did leave a VM it was very courteous and included a 1-800 number and extension to call back. However the calls are coming to my cell which is annoying.
Got a few calls from them claiming to be affiliated with AAA, trying to get me to renew my membership. They were not very professional sounding, and they refused to send me any info by mail or email, or to allow me to pay online. Then I got another call from them where they just said "Sorry, wrong number" when I picked up.Finally, I had to call AAA's 800 number myself to get the official word. The operator I spoke to had no idea who they were, and said she was going to alert her manager. It's either a scam or a REALLY badly run billing company. Either way, I recommend ignoring them and dealing directly with AAA via their 800 number or web site.
why is call for
Yes, this is AAA renewal service.... trying to get you to renew membership.
"This is ** from your AAA, give us a call back at this number."
Not sure why I am getting this call every day twice, but seems to be a scam call as they ask you to renew your AAA membership.Wiered marketing strategy by AAA or might be a scam. Be carful answering such calls. I had to block this number.
Call to renew service.
