I just received a call today (5/24/10) from that same number (05-231-2293). I did not answer it as I never heard of an area code 05. It looks like the same nut trying to call me as they tried to call you. Anyone else have any info on this number?

I got a call 5-17-10 many times and the guy said he works for medicare.He said a woman wants to come over today(5-18) to make sure my husband is getting the the benefits that he has coming from medicare. They will be in the area.The phone number came up as 05-231-2293.I did'nt know where the number was coming from until I called the police and asked them. Be careful...I'll let you know if they really come over....

if you call the nubber back and put *67 before it it calls anonymously and it went straight to voicemail which it sounds like a cell phone not sure but it does give his name but it is hard to understand so I am not sure what his name is but somebody try this and maybe you can get his name *67636-328-5021

I to got the same message the first time he called I was sleeping and than he called back when i answered and noticed the accent I ***g up he than called back and was rude demanding to know why I ***g up I than cursed at him and told him not to call back and he keeps calling and ****ing up beaware of these people they are just crooks trying to steal from you

My husband had a guy call from 646-328-5021 but the # came up on the caller ID as +05 231 2293. This man was saying that my husband had taken out a pay day loan and we were going to be taking to court for theft by deception. He had all of my husband info (SSN#, address, full name, etc.). My husband ***g up on him and he kept calling back. The guy said that he was local and when we asked him where he was from he proceeding by telling us he was from NY. Sorry but we live in AL and have never filed for a pay day loan. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS!!!! I have tried and tried to call this # back and it goes to ext# - 7263466 and will not let you talk to anyone it will only allow you to leave a message.

Please use caution when dealing with these people!  They are scammers.  They called me up demanding money for a "charged off" loan.  They refused to give me any information, any proof of the loan.  They said they are from Legal Accounts****ociation.  They use American names, but have accents like they are from India or someplace similar.  They gave me a fake address in Binghamton, NY (their phone number is NYC).  They said the debt was from Advanced Payday Plus.  I told them I was not familiar with that company and asked for the date that the money was supposedly deposited into my account.  They would only give me the "charge off" date.  I a***n asked for proof of the debt and they refused, that it is "illegal" for them to provide any information and threatened me...not with collections or a lawsuit, but with criminal charges.  I pressed, and they gave me the number for Advanced Payday Plus...646-626-4200.  When I called this company directly, it was the same people with the same accents.A collection agency cannot have someone arrested.  They can take you to court.  I consulted an attorney friend of mine who verified these facts.  I stood fast, telling them I would need to do some checking and would call them back.  They gave me until 6pm Eastern time to make a decision or they would have me arrested.  This is when I called the attorney.  After confirming the facts, I called them back, demanding the information proving the debt (as afforded me by the Fair Debt Collection Act) and they said that they would forward my file for processing.  When I tried calling back, my call went directly to voicemail.  I then tried calling the number they had given me for Advanced Payday Plus, but the guy answered that phone as "Legal Accounts****ociation."  Busted!  I repeated my demand for proof and he too said I would be arrested in the morning.  When I tried calling that number back...I was a***n sent straight to voicemail with the same extension.

these guys are scammers...first they said i wed money on back taxes...then tried to scare me with you are going to jail etc... said I owed a loan of 396.89 but hey would never give me info. they would only say that it was Advance america.... dont give them any info...

I got a call from a James Watson, stating that his message was time sensitive and that if I didn't return it, or have my attorney return the message I was going to be in major trouble, and that it would be out of his hands. He had a very thick accent and I could barely understand "Mr. Watson!" Is there a simple way to report these people... he's called from a strange number, and has called over 5x in an hour. I only got their number because of one of the voicemails. thanks, C

Just got a voice message. Could not understand what his name was. Very demanding and hateful.

I asked for the paperwork and he wouldn't provide me with anything. Alot of these scams are going on right now. Becareful. It's happen alot with the ones that have accents.

hey guys i got a call from an allan smith today, and i appeaared to be in a lot of trouble but when i called back no one answered and the man talking had an accent not as i would imagine an alan smith to have. asking for my lawer to call him. please let me know what happened before i get caught up in some b.s. this all seems a little shady

I got a phone call from a Rick Brown. The phone number I got was 636-328-5021. The guy is claiming to call on behalf of Advance Payday Plus. He kept asking how I was going to pay the amount of 700.   I couldn't really understand him because of his accent. I needed to pay by 6pm so I can aviod jail. This littlle games they are playing are getting old! I ***g up on him and he kept calling back. Be careful!!
