Leave a Commentthey call me is a lady and she said is from a employment agency, i apply on line and she said they looking for person to work at bank here in houston...they ask for my SS to get my criminal record...i hope they dont do so****ing wrong ant take advantage of my necesity of job...
Actually. The lady I spoke to was very, very nice. She explained that the call was from a third party company that is simply calling to verify information YOU already inputted somewhere. Now, they wouldn't have your phone number or your home address if you hadn't entered it somewhere. I had applied somewhere online and they were calling to make sure that =I= was not the scammer wasting their time, see? They didn't ask for a social security number and didn't ask for anything that they hadn't already had. She even waited while I c****ed my email and got a new one to give to her as the one I had had inputed was no longer working properly. Ten minute call max.
From my research this a bogus company posting tons of bogus positions with exact same info in multiple localities and every day. Job postings look very fishy and not in usual format with some non professional gmail account. Come on give me a break! Also they operate under many different names. They are phishing for info for telemarketers and scammers! This is nothing but SCAM so don't even waste your time! I spot their fake listings in a heartbeat now. They will never ever get me a***n! They call me every day and I will NOT answer.
Well I too just got a call from this same number at 11:17 this morning about an hour ago...and so I called back just to check it out...and just as John H described...all they were basically asking is if I'm still interested in a job that I actually applied for within the last couple of weeks. They did ask me to re-verify general basic information that they already had...the lady on the phone she asked if my address was still (and then SHE gave me the adress info they had) which was correct, asked if my e-mail was still (a***n SHE already had the info) just needed to re-verify it. although she did inform me that the call could take as little as 5mins but possibly up to 45mins just depending on what the specific client needed them to verify etc. took about 8mins. and they did not ask my SSN or any info they did not already have...And yes I did put in for the job within the time they stated...although she could not tell me who there client was...I asked a couple more general pin-point type of questions as to location of the employer/client she was calling for and even a more specific distance form my adress...which a place i applied for is at that distance and general locations and it's also a government facility...governmemt job...so I don't think that these folks would really want to try and scam/play around with so****ing like that. But a***n...I can understand how alot of people may have there reservations about this...So all i can say is...do what you feel is right for you...if you have those kinds of doubts then do not answer or call them back...everyone has the right to protect themselves in all ways. if you feel that it's a scam...NO one is twisting anyone else arm...but if you do recieve these kinds of calls just do what you feel is right for you. If you don't trust it...then don't call back or answer...if you want to check it out and if they s**** asking for too personal of information...then just **** up if you don't feel comfortable or don't trust it. For all I know it might be a scam of sorts or so****ing of that nature...but they did not ask for any information from me that they did not already have...and they even revealed a few things area/general location of employer/client when i asked although they can't reveal company name. But if they had asked for my SSN (as in we don't have your SSN but we need it)...I probably would have ***g up too...lol.Anyway...I too got this call and so far things seem legit. But I'll gladly update this if that c****es. BTW...I would love to know if anyone who as gotten a call like this from them and spoken with someone...I would love to hear from someone who was (ATLEAST) actually contacted by the employer/client they claim to be calling for...even if you didn't get the job...just to hear from someone who was contacted by that employer/client would be nice to know. If anyone has...post on here and tell us about it please.anyway...sorry for long post. hope it gives some insight or atleast gives everyone so****ing to ponder over. good day all...
I got the same call today (July 21) and I held on the line till someone came on to see what it was about. Turns out it was for a company I put in for back in May, and the job was still open. This company works for them to make sure the person is still interested in the job and already has your information. I told them I would not give them any information, and she just asked to verify my information to be the same. She asked if my name was correct, gave me my address and asked if it was still correct, and a few other questions pertaining to the job. I think this is a legit business, and wanted to post to put other people at ease about it.
July/20/2009I received a call from this #, saying they are from Career Network, that if i have a question about a job i have apply recently to wait for a rep. that will confirm all the information i send online, and that they will ask additional information, but i have to be infront of the computer during this questioning??? I terminated the call because i don't trust this type of calls and i did not have the time to wait for some one to answerd , when it wasen't me****call it was them!!!.
I got a voice mail saying they are Career Network that I applied for a job within the last week the area code is for New York. I didn't call them back.
