The same people have been calling me. The numbers used were 562-286-5777 and 559-533-0111 (caller ID showed 919-424-***2).All the same information such as SS# bank account information and personel infromation was ask. The names giver were Andy Brown the first time and a Kenneth the second. Could hardly understand what they were saying. When I looked up the numbers they were calling fron Intermia Communication, Pac-west telecomm and Mpower communications corp. Very good at being the bully and trying to get you to save money by paying the fine now. The best part was when they tried to transfer the call all the guy did was punch the numbers and handed the phone to someone else. They got mad when I laughed at them.
Scam artists for certain. They warned that if I didn't pay I'd be in "big trouble". Also called my sisters to attempt to collect the non-existent debt. Even if there truly was a legitiment debt to be collected, their practices are illegal and they would be sued. Being that they are calling from outside the U.S. it won't be possible to prosecute. However, I implore you to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) a***nst the phone number. If multiple complaints are legitimately filed a***nst that telephone number, the case will be investigated thoroughly and the phone number will be shut down. Please file a complaint here https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/it takes literally 5 minutes to do so.
These people are an illegal debt collection agency. They have no problem breaking our laws regarding fair debt collection practices. I had payday loans, and paid the prin****l. Because the lenders were not licensed to lend to people in my state, it made the contracts null and void. I closed my bank account and revoked authorization to have them withdraw any more money. It's usually good to pay the prin****l (even though you don't have to), but they can't make you pay that crazy interest. Most of the online payday loan companies cannot legally do business in the U.S. So, anyway, 4 months after revoking authorization to withdraw funds, I got a call at work from a Mark Williams. Said he was from "The Department of Law and Investigation." Fake sounding business name, and I knew he was nowhere close to being a "Mark Williams", as he spoke in a heavy, East Indian accent. He kept beating around the bush, telling me to get a pen and paper, that I should write down my case number. I demanded he tell me with this was about, but he kept saying, "I'll explain, I'll explain."I finally screamed at him that he better explain now, or else I was done. He said I was being sued for "check fraud". Isn't that a felony? Wouldn't I be arrested for that? I was confused, as I've never committed check fraud. He said some payday loan company was taking legal action a***nst me for the crimes I committed. The funniest thing, is that that I had never heard of the loan company's name before. He explained that they go by different names sometimes. I said, "Good for them. Not my problem."He wouldn't say how much I supposedly owed, and I repeated over and over that I had no idea what in the world he was talking about, that he'd better get his act together, because I had nothing to do with this loan company."Mark" s****ing reading off my SSN# repeatedly, and then asked if I knew my references' names. He said that they are in big trouble now, too, because of the "crime" I committed!!!!That really ticked me off, so I screamed at him to never call me a***n...EVER. ***g up the phone, and that was it.We have got to report these guys to the FTC and/or the local authorities. They can't threaten, and they can't criminally prosecute over payday loan interest.I'm MAD....
Man with Indian accent called my boss's line and asked for him by name. When I informed him that my boss was not in and asked who was calling, said his name was Chris McCoy from the Department of Law and Investigation. It was extremely urgent that my boss call Mr. McCoy. Whe I asked what this was concerning they said it was very critical that my boss call Mr. McCoy. I asked where they were located and he said in New Jersy. I asked for the address and he said he could not give it to me as they were a "front desk" operation. I told them I would give my boss the message. I then ***g up and called back and and another Indian accented mand answered. I asked if he could tell me about their company. He then asked for my name and what I wanted- I told them wanted to know about their company. He seemed to be getting angry and asked me who I talked to. I told him Chris McCoy. He said he would put me through to him..I waited but no one came on the line. I had a gut feeling this was not legit - So I googled the phone number and found someone else had a similar experience.
Some man with indian accent called my house and left a message saying he was dept of investigations, my brother had used my name as a reference for some cashnet marketing and I was going to have charges filed a***nst me. I called the number back and told them I have not seen or talked to my brother in 6 months. He wouldn't tell exactly what this "investigation" entailed, but promised me I would find out tomarrow morning when he sends police and federal agents to my doorstep. I told him to go right ahead because I didn't do anything wrong. Then, I googled cashnet marketing and found multiple complaints of indian men calling pretending to be law officers and trying to get people's ss# and to send them money to avoid charges being filed. Somehow, I doubt that any police will show up on my doorstep in the morning.
mark williams said if i dont call back I would be "in deep trouble". He wanted to ask about so****ing in MN, which i've never had a history and he figured minnesota from my area code
