Just had them show up on my caller id...Im in Troy NY...i wilkl report them to Verizon and the NYS FOP website
This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the New York State Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number. It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there’s information on www.nysfop.com, you can contact them there with any questions or requests. The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for New York police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.
Received a call from them a few minutes ago. This time there was an ID of NY FOP. I didn't pick up, as I didn't pick up the first time they called, using a different phone number with no ID shown. Research by others have shown they are scam artists, trying to get our money and have nothing to do with the NY Police Department, or any other police departments. I listed the first phone number with the DNC list, but if they keep c****ing their phone numbers, I guess I'll be getting these awful calls a***n.
caller asked for the 'lady of the house'. When I asked who's speaking, he pretended that he can't hear, and said he'd call back later because he 'can not hear anything.when I called this agency back, they pretended they can't do a thing, except removing my number in 72 hours...but now my number is in 3 more person's hands within that organization...what is wrong with those pathetic people? Must I show up in person at their office to take care of things?
Received call from this # and was prompted to press 2 if I no longer wanted to be called. Pressed 2 and was told the mail box was full. Pressed another # and was told please wait (the typical music began), so I decided to place my music speaker next to the phone and leave it there for 30 minutes before ****ing up. I felt a little satisfaction! I called my phone carrier and had this # blocked.
I'm in NYC just got a call and he seemed very interested to get going when I mentioned that I know police departments in the state and city and they never phone citizens for donations.
My caller ID also said "NY FOP". I didn't answer it. I believe this may be a scam. There is a NYS FOP that appears to be a legitimate organization (http://www.nysfop.org/contact.htm) but their contact number says 1-888-NYS1FOP (1-888-697-1367). I would****ume if it was the legitimate organization calling, the caller ID would show "NYS FOP" and not "NY FOP". I haven't investigated further.
Got a call from this numberIt is the NY FOPI called it back and there was an option to be removed from the call list, when I did that it stated that the mailbox was full....ugh!
Called, let it ring twice, ***g up before I could answer. Glad to know that its a scam.
There was only silence when I picked up. I then laid the phone down and came back 5 minutes later and still silence so I ***g up. Caller ID said it was "NY FOP"
