I received an email regarding vacation property that he said was a good price because of a cancellation. IT WAS WAY TOO GOOD A PRICE but wanted money bank wired to him. I have asked several more questions and correspondence has gone silent. But the phone number he gave to contact isn't this exact number but starts with 646......

Me and my friends , all University students have just lost over 5000 euros to thís man . Luckily we found out this was a scam before we left for our holidays . We are now trying to Find a way to get our money back . His name is David Meyers acting as a VRBO agent and making fake rental agreements.

I received the same email while searching for a camp. David Meyer is using the VBRO contract and even the owner's name. Luckily he did not get my money. THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT BOOK. NEVER SEND A WIRE TRANSFER.

Note, scammer contacted us by email. Do not reply to email. Scammer sent an email asking if we received his response about the property gave a property ID and this is what was the flag because it did not match the properties we were considering.

I am in Australia and David Meyer claimed to be leasing properties on behalf of VRBO owners. Then sends you rental contract based on property ID with some convincing owner details, and urgently asks you to transfer full rental price via WISE because there has been a cancellation (which means you can’t pay via VRBO website)

Vacation Rental scam! via EMAIL. Tries to make you believe he is a property manager when you inquire about houses on rental sites, rent by owner sites, vrbo,evolve... He then makes offer of cheaper rental rate, sends 'contract' off original site and tells you owner is out of the country. When I vetted his info direct with the website it was all false. SCAM AVOIDED!

We made vacation rental inquiries through various real estate brokers in FL. Got an email from "David" at [email protected] that said, "Have you received my response regarding the property rental? " When we asked he was unclear which brokerage he is from. Would not give more info. Claimed to have rentals available, showed them using a VRBO link and then directs you to book through him.

He claims to have rentals available on VRBO and then directs you away from the VRBO website to book. His email is [email protected] and he uses the name David. He sends an email "Have you received my response regarding the property rental?"

vacation rental scammer. Tried to say he was the manager of my VRBO property and tried to get someone to pay him directly. The renter then contacted me on VRBO asking about the "manager" David, and we figured out he was a scammer. This is the phone number he provided to her.

Email intercepts my dialogue with genuine holiday let agency in UK saying "Have you received my response regarding the property rental?" Thereafter "please go to www.vrbo.com and try to find something based on your requirements (don't set up the dates) and come up with 2-3 options (provide a link to them) and I will try to get you the best price". Claims to work directly with owner - he doesn't!
