Leave a CommentI have dealt with these scam artists for the last several weeks. Same old story as everyone else. What I have is the solution to end this and some facts you need to know and what you should do:-This is a clear and dry directory listing scam. Ignore their demands. All of them. -Try and get them to email you an invoice to a spam email account you use to review. Once it is received, confirm the address on the invoice. As of right now, they are operating out of: 200 South ******ia Street 8th Floor, PMB-42Reno, NV 89501PLEASE BE AWARE, they do not physically call you from this location. (Calls come from 775, which is a vegas area code). This is in fact a virtual office location. If you see a "PMB" or other initials that don't indicate a suite or another physical address, they are operating out of a virtual office just like this one. Now here is the facts:The virtual office is run by a company named "Regus" linksnotallowed.reguslinksnotallowed. They are a company that runs virtual offices around the country. Link is here: httlinksnotallowed://maps.googlelinksnotallowed/maps/place?cid=6375581442254791544&q=200+S+******ia+St+%23+8,+Reno,+NV+89501-2405&hl=en&dtab=0&sll=39.523111,-119.81123&sspn=0.006295,0.006295&ie=UTF8&ll=39.529152,-119.820886&spn=0,0&z=16Regus do in fact have the REAL CONTACT INFORMATION for the owner of this company and not the bogus one they send you. It is possible to get this information through a subpoena if you choose to take this further. (and I would love to see someone do it and I will support them.) Here is what you can do in the meantime:1. Call Regus' Reno location directly: (775) 686-2400. Ask to speak with the Center Manager, (Her name is Wendy, but just ask for the manager and confirm later that it is her you are speaking to.) -Confirm that Yellow Local Directory is in fact one of their clients. -Tell them that you have been receiving harassing calls from this client for money and that they are trying to scam you and your company.-Tell the manager to contact their client and tell them to STOP CALLING YOU IMMEDIATELY OR YOU WILL SEEK LEGAL ACTION.-Tell the manager you will contact the Regus corporate as well.2. Call Regus' Corporate Legal Office in Texas. (972) 361-8100 x7. This number connects you with Michelle Hargus, head of Regus' Legal department. If she does not answer, leave a message stating you want to report a client of theirs and leave a call number back. Keep leaving message if she does not return your call.3. Report the scammers to the FTC, local law enforcement, BBB, and get on the do not call list registry. This helps with pushing the government to get involved, and to stop further scammers from contacting you in the future.4. If the scammers call back, tell them you have done all of the following above and you won't get a single dime from you so stop trying AND STOP CALLING!I hope this helps some of you out. It seems to be the most productive way at this time. I HOPE THE SCAMMERS ARE READING THIS NOW. YOU WILL NOT WIN. WE WILL FIND YOU AND JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED!!! **** ON THAT.~JM
If you go to the Better Business Bureau website (don't limit the search to just one country). You will find pages and pages of articles do***enting this "invoice scam" in multiple countries all by the same type of "yellow" directory. It comes from a call center outside the US that is obviously set up for scams. They get you to say "cancel" which means you will accept their invoice; if you don't "cancel" then you accept to continue the service. total entrapment; so don't do either.I emailed "yellow local directory" from their US site and it promises a response in 24 hours, just to see if someone else is using their name. No response...so I figure their in on the scam too!I posted their web site with a US address and phone number on another blog and asked everyone to email and call and it seems to have worked. Jammed their internet site for hours. so, if you have a few minutes...http://www.yellowlocaldirectory.com/contact-us.phpYellow Local Directory200 S ******ia Street, 8th floor, PMB-42Reno, NV 895011 (888) 509-28***nquiries:[email protected]: the BBB: www.bbb.org

Called me this morning and said I owed for cancelling internet yellow pages ($472.00). Called the local BBB *** she said it was a scam. Told me to google the phone number and see these responses.
I am a police officer. An elderly lady reported that she got called by this number and they said that they were issuing new medical cards. The caller confirmed her correct address then asked for the elderly lady's checking account number. She said that she doesn't give out that information and they ***g up. This is a scam operation. Do not give out any information over the phone EVER, unless you initiate the call to somewhere.

Called about 2:05 PM today (Friday). Did not recognize number. Did not pick up.
My hubby got a call from them this morning. They claimed to be with Verizon and said that we had called them requesting to cancel our online advertising 3 months ago, and that in order to cancel we would be charged a fee of $500.00. My husband called me (I'm in charge of all things office) and I immediately contacted Verizon who of course had no idea what this was all about. Tried calling the number they fake company gave hubby - it was disconnected.
GREAT! Thank you for all the posting ... will be blocking that number!
I just called the real AT&T...they said it's a scam. These people go after free listings in the yellow pages to get your business name and number, and...Well. YOU can figure out THE REST!
YUP....they are calling my too. Scammers!
Got a phone call 06/30/2010 at 9:30am. A male asking for the owner of the company. He said he was from Yellow Local Directory stating that they got a request to cancel our ads 3 months ago. I asked him if the request was put in 3 months ago why it was being dealt with now? He asked if it was correct that a request was put in. I asked him to hold so that I could confrim with my supervisor and he ***g up.
Just got the same call wanting to "verify your mailing address" so he could send out the paperwork.. I responded "Sorry we didn't sign up for online advertising" His response...."Oh go f#*$% yourself" very professional !!!!Grow up and get a real job instead of trying to scam people
We have been getting calls from 661-594-7182 for the past few days. Today 6/16/10 at 12:16 PM, at 11:27 AM, and 9:52 AM when I pick up and say*****o they don't say anything. I am thinking about getting one of those **** horns for the next time.
A woman called from this number saying she was part of the cancellation department for the internet Yellow Pages. I explained to her that we do not advertise with the internet Yellow Pages and she said it was a free listing that we set up. I told her she was mistaken as we have never set up any kind of listing and she said the owner's name and said he was the one to set it up two years ago. A***n I told her there was no way he authorized anything since he hasn't been in office for over three years. She said she would find out who authorized it and let me know. Then she ***g up. I get really frustrated with these people. Don't ever give out any information to anyone claiming to be doing business with you, or trying to "update" your listing. It's a big scam.
Same as you all, claiming "someone" had cancelled the yellow page ad, and they would be sending out "final invoice" of $400-so****ing. When I said that's nice, I never ordered anything, and I won't be paying for anything, she said another department would call me back and ***g up.
Received this call in North Carolina yes****ay. She wanted to confirm info about our company canceling our yellow pages ad. We have never advertised in yellow pages. I answered a couple of her questions and then she wanted to transfer me to her billing department so send us the final invoice.Complete scam.
happens to me today just minutes ago, they **** up. but I called back and there is a recording saying the number you dial is not in service... weird.
6.1-10 - I had the same thing happen from this number to me today also. Telling me that the owner had cancelled advertising with them, which we do not even advertise with them for a $479.00 balance that is due now.How do we get these people stopped?
They just called me on 5.26.10 at 4:30pm est and said we canceled our yellow page ad...only problem is we don't advertise in the yellow pages...He ***g up without saying a word...causing me to investigate the phone number.
A**hole called here with the same introduction... "I'm calling to cancel you ...blah blah blah" Guess what, he to said we owed in the 400.00 so****ing range! Nope, nothing we ever ordered. Come on and "prove it" " show me what you say you were selling us" Scam scam scam. Call came to us 05/20/2010
the same thing happened to me today , the man was a ****, saying he needed to talk to some one in charge, that he was cancelling our yellow page internet add. when he found out that I had no authority, he ***g up on me. I am going to put them on the do not call list
Got a call to my cell phone.
