This number is a forwarding number for your voicemail. When someone calls you it uses this number to forward to where your inbox and outgoing box is. You need this to be able to collect your messages on your phone. This is not a scam. AT&T needs this number to set up your mailbox on.

This number just goes to voicemail. When I listen to voicemail it's not there nothing
