Leave a CommentI got a call from Jason Smith. He had an Indian accent and claimed to be with the US Government Grant Dept. in Washington, DC. He said that every year the government gives out $7000 to people in the country who have not filed for bankruptcy and who pay their bills on time. When I s****ed to question and push him for info, he told me was going to transfer my info to the Accounts Dept and that they would call me back in 35 minutes. I asked him for a website - he didn't give me one and I asked him for a phone number - he gave me the number (202)436-9929. I didn't call him back because it's a scam and I didn't want him to get my cell phone number.
This call is a big scam. Please avoid talking with them and do not provide any information. I received a call from this number, an Indian man voice who wanted to know what kind of fire system I have. I ***g up. Please be cautious.
Received a call from this number at 11 am this morning. We were all at work so our answering ma****e picked up. There was no message. I do not make a habit of answering unknown numbers but will sure tell everyone I know not to answer this call.
I have received several calls from this number. Today a man with an indian accent named "John" called and said "it was not a sales call" and asked "if I had a smoke detector in my house". The time before they asked if I had an alarm system. I told them that I am on the do not call registry and to take me off their calling list. I called the number 701-221-2212 right back and it says the number has been disconnected. I have filed a complaint with the do not call registry regarding their harassment. I think someone has hacked into the called ID system and is using this number because it is disconnected.
moments ago i received a call from an Asian Indian sounding guy who said his name is Richard Brooks from the National Grants Department from a Florida office. He said his supervisor's name is Steve Williams. He offered a grant of several or seven thousand dollars (I couldn't understand clearly which it was) because I have been "regularly filing my taxes" and the U.S. government wants to send a grant to people who have been doing so. He had my correct name, address, and phone number. He asked for my date of birth and bank information, which I refused to provide. I told him I didn't have a bank account, and he asked me to call him when I got one. However, he refused to give me a number and asked me when he should call me back to get my bank information so that the "verification department" could contact me before doing a bank to bank transfer. I told him to call me in 200 years and I would have all the information he needed. He thanked me and said he'd call.
today i recieved a call as well from some loser named Steven he has an accent he is middle eastern. He has been trying to get me to take a $7000 grant from him. He claims he is from The National Grants Department in Fl(you can google it). He gave me a address and everything. I called the police on him because he was calling my family and harrassing them because he couldnt reach me. Luckily when the police came to my house to take the report he called at the same time. The police officer talked to this guy but he was talking so rudely to the officer telling him he will put him behind bars. So i had a trap put on my phone line. they at the time were calling me from a wierd 15 digit number. and today he called me with this 701# telling me how he wants to be my friend. nd how he wants to do ***ual stuff with me. i was so digusted so i s****ed cursing him out and at that point i was so boiled up i just let him have all my anger and frustration. Ive ignored all the calls since the past 3 weeks but now he calls from a new number...uuugggghhh....i dont know how to get these ****** low lifes to stop calling
Received a phone call from 701.221.2212. After saying "hello" several times, a man with an Indian accent asked me about my smoke alarms. I asked who he was, and he said so****ing that sounded like "Kelvin Smoke Alarms." I hope both of his ear drums ruptured from my screaming at him (I have a really big voice). Apparently these people think that because they are out of the country, routing through a North Dakota phone number, they can do as they please. Do what people used to do to discourage perverts from calling one's number: Keep a whistle or some kind of noise maker near your phone and use it on these people. They have to be using a kind of "random number generator" for lack of a better phrase, as my number is unlisted. Based on the above posts, this must be a phishing expedition.
caller had already acknowledged my ss#, as well as my address, said he was with the IRS, someone needs to stop this person.
Phone rang with Bismark, ND 701-221-2212, at 7:11pm. I have family in ND, but don't know exactly where they live/what their number is, answered it, and it s****ed ringing. Then someone picked up & I could barely hear, I think they said "Hello Ms. (my last name)?" and I said "Sorry, what?", and they ***g up.
I'm from Bayonne NJ and I have been receiving calls on my cell phone from a number that comes up as "00" or 701-221-2212 for the last week or so. I can't dial them back successfully. the second number answers with "you have reached a number that has been disconnected", obviously the callers own recording made to sound like a phone company advisory.
Sorry, I typed the wrong number. The call is from 701-221-2212.
I live in Danville, Kentucky and I get a call from this number at least twice each day. A ma****e must be dialing my number because surely ***ody would dial that often. When I answer, there is never a response.
I have recieved about 6 calls from this #, the last one was this morning,Sat.Nov 17th at 9:30am. These calls have been over the last 2 weeks. The first 2 calls were dead line, the next 2 calls were call backs that I ***g up on and the 5th call was a man asking for someone else and when I informed him that he had called a wrong # he s****ed correcting my grammer and being very agumentive, I ***g up on him. Then there was the call this morning another dead line
This number has been calling me for several days. Most of the time I have ignored it because my caller ID identified the call as coming from Bismark, ND, I figured it was a credit card company. I finally answered and no one was there. I held on and heard ringing on the line and an Indian man asked for me by my name. He then told me that because I had been such a good tax payer that the IRS wanted to reward me with a refund. I had a difficult time understanding him and asked if he was a foreigner and he said no - he sure sounded Indian to me. I told him I didn't understand him and asked who he represented and he told me he was from the Federal Recovery Dept. (or agency) of the IRS. I told him I never heard of that agency. I was then transferred to his supervisor who also spoke with an Indian accent. I asked her what her name was and she told me Sally Smith. I told her she sounded Indian and she replied that she was an American. I told her that she was trying to scam me and quit wasting my time. I also told her to put my name of their Do Not Call List. She replied that I wasting her time and was a very bad American citizen and then ***g up.
I ANSWERED THE PHONE AND ***ODY WAS THEIR. THEN A INDIAN MAN ASKED FOR MARTIN. I SAID YOU HAVE THE WRONG NUMBER. HE SAID NO HE HAD THE RIGHT NUMBER BUT I WAS THE WRONG PERSON. I SAID I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO LIVED HERE AND HE CALLED ME A C**T THAT I WAS EVIL.
We get this call a few times a day and they just **** up. This time, a foreign man came on the phone and my sisters said she could not understand him, put someone else on the phone. After going back and forth with about 3 men, one stayed on and said that they had money to give us from the IRS and I told them that i googled their number and it was nothing but a scam and the IRS would NOT have foreigners in North Dakota working for them. He them told us he didn't have a "**** in his eye" and then he sang in a song type tone "i want to f*ck you".
They called my grandmother and my sister and ***ually****aulted her and when my grandmother took it he told her to shut the "F" up and called her a "M F". he just kept telling her to shut up and we tried to call back and the phone said that it was out of service. He claimed that he was from the government and that they had one money and wanted our bank account number.
every day --twice a day --these ****s must be stopped!...
I received a call today from this number and the man with an indian accent told me he was from Merchant Services and wanted to sell me credit card services. I told the man no and that I was on the do not call list. I have since received three more irrate phone calls from this person threatening me and cursing me out. If this number appears on your caller id DO NOT ANSWER and if you do just **** up the phone. Don't bother reasoning with these people. Normally I would say get as much info as you can spo to report the *******s but the number appears to be s****ed and if they did tell you anything it all would probably be a lie. The only good part in regard to talking to them is that you prevent them from calling someone else while you are on the phone.
I received a call this morning from someone claiming to be an IRS agent and because I am such a "loyal tax return filer", I qualifeid to receive over $1100.00 in refunds. I am a senior tax accountant at a CPA firm and know first and foremost, the IRS NEVER corresponds via telephone unless they are returning your telephone call. They always initiate everything in writing by sending you a letter. The guy said that this amount of money is too large to send via the mail, and just wanted to verify some information and needed my bank information and SSN to have the money directly put into my account. Luckily, I am aware of the scams going around and told him that I am an accountant, I know about his scams and am not interested and I ***g up. Please let everyone in your life - family, friends, customers, etc. know about this scam. They are taking a lot of money from innocent people because the IRS does intimidate many people. I tried calling the number back that showed up on our caller id, and of course, it does not exist. I am in the process of working with the IRS and the Attorney General's office to try to get these people caught.
Got a call this afternoon. said they were the IRS and we had a refund comming. The man's name was Roger Water told us we had a 2465.71 refund. They had alot of info. on us. address, phone, name of both me and my spouse and our names not not the same. He gave us an confirmation # 6448688 and that the refund would be be put in our checking account on Nov. 16, 2007 and his boss would call us back and conferm the info. About 10 min later a man named Alen call us. with more info. and this # to call them back if we had any questions 701-221-2212 WELL we gave them our acc# & routing # .THEN we got to thinking and realized that we are dumb A$@. Call the bank they said (SCAM) to get to the bank ASAP to close our acc# we did...WE got lucky! no money lost bank said they had all they need from us to do anything with our acc#... but not enought TIME we stop it to fast.... THANK GOD So fyi IT'S NOT THE IRS YOU DO HAVE ANY MONEY COMMING BACK IRS will let you know about a refund when you file. WILL NOT CALL.
Got a call Halloween night saying they were from the IRS and needed by account numbers to refund $3,000 I had coming from 2006.
We received a call from this number on Sa****ay morning. My wife answered thephone and a man with a foreign accent asked for my Mother who has been dead for 8 years. The man said that she had $2500 coming from the IRS and that he would see that the deposit was made into our bank account and that he needed to verify our bank account number and social security number. My wife told him she was not interested in continuing the conversation and ***g up.
We have received phone calls from this number twice in the past week. Where are all of you from? We are in Pennsylvania. I re-dialed the number, and got a recording saying that the phone number was out of service. Then I did a reverse phone search and discovered that the number was unlisted, but the provider was listed as Qwest. I am currently on the phone with Qwest (who doesn't have a record of this phone number!) to see if they can track down this person or somehow block access to it. I'll report back if anything transpires. FYI, we too are on the Do Not Call registry. I just renewed our registration about a month ago -- it's now good for the next few years (as an aside, has everyone here re-registered? Not sure if everyone knows you have to do that in order to keep your status current).
We have received a few calls from this number - One with silence on the other end and one with heavy breathing. It was very disconcerting, especially given the fact that this is a business.
I am on the do not call list, I am going to report them next.
I got a call from this number on 9/21/07 at 9:22 PM. Caller ID said "Bismarck, ND" I answered and it just s****ed ringing, so I ***g up.
I got this call in the late afternoon. The number showed, but the Caller ID said "Unknown Caller". I answered, said*****o, silence for a second, then the line was ringing. I ***g up.
I have received a few calls from this number. I have answered it and initially, there is a simple recorded greeting (like "Hello") in a female voice but then someone else picks it up. Twice it was a man with a heavy Indian accent saying he was calling in regards to some "credit card protection" service. The first time I kindly told him that this was a cell phone, I do not accept telemarketing or solicited calls at this number and put this number on your Do Not Call list. The second call I wasn't as nice and mentioned I already went through this with someone the other day. Personally, I got the impression or feeling that upon pickup the number may switch to another location and possibly to another country.
