Tried to collect from a card I haven't had in 10 years

this number calls me at 8:00am in the morning that is illegal. How do I stop them from calling.

Have received 15 calls from this company since 12/08/11. I do not answer but find these call harassing.. Is there any way to stop them. I am on the do-not call list.

702-410-7076 portfoli recovery just called asked for me at my parents house they have called there 3 times by way of caller ID I was informed of this ;they call there but I don't live there and they are elderly is it legal for them to call their house

Debt collector? More like a fishing expedition. Looking for someone with my name (I think) more interested in getting personal info.

I got this marketing call at 8:10pm/. Even with the Do Not Call List, all still get the calls.

This number just called 6 pm Arizona time. The caller ID gave this number and Las Vegas NV but no other IDs. I have gotten calls in the past from Portfolio Recovery Services where they actually identified themselves on the caller ID but not this time. Of course they did not leave a message on my ma****e - they never do, no matter what number or caller ID they use. I never actually answer these calls BTW. It does you absolutely no good. If you answer and give them any info at all it just confirms that you live there and they call even more. If you actually make an offer to pay an old debt that has passed the statute of limitations, the clock is res****ed and your debt becomes current a***n, setting your credit rating back. Chances are good that the original debt has been written off by the original creditor as a loss, and they have been given a tax credit for it by the IRS. So even if you offered to pay the original debt to the original creditor, they by law could not accept it. Companies like Portfolio Recovery Services buy "debt paper" for pennies on the dollar, then use any means possible to try to "collect". It's all really a big scam, and these outfits should be outlawed and put out of business IMO.
