Some people have asked how this company was tracked back to California and for more information about who these guys are. Here is the information I was able to extract out of them and where it leads... I was contacted by someone who appeared to be a 702 area code number (Las Vegas, NV). They offered me an extended warranty on my car that at the end of the warranty would have exceeded the residual price of the car. Clearly a scam. I was able to get them to email some information to me (which looked pretty shady) and it was sent from [email protected]. Browsing the website directprotectwarranty.com gets you a site with no addresses and only a toll-free number. Any reputable company would have more contact information on it. A whois lookup of the domain shows it to be 'privacy blocked', reputable companies wouldn't do this either. A Google search of directprotectwarranty.com showed me a listing on Monster for telemarketing reps, but were listed under a local hospital (yep, they want us to believe that hospitals sell extended warranties). I contacted Monster's fraud department and had the listing taken down. In the listing, they had the number

They call My Cell Phone with a sales pitch on vehicle service.

Claiming car warranty expired & must call back immediately to extend. Option to refuse further calls doesn't work. Also getting calls from 7-2-520-1478 maybe related?

I've asked to be removed from their call list, but the calls keep coming. Today, I told the telemarketer a***n to remove me from their call list and he ***g up on me.
