Leave a CommentThis ***** with an very thick Indian accent, claims I owe the US Treasury money. I said that's wrong. He claims the police will be here soon to pick me up and the grand jury or judge had a warrant for my arrest. His name was supposed to be Mike. He did know my name...That's a little scary, he was very threatening and I told him to send the police over!!! I feel sorry for the elderly or people who might be prey to this scam.
- IRS scam- Caller ID said "Out of area." Called claimed his name was Steve Martin from US Treasury or the IRS. (It was hard to understand the caller because his accent was so thick.) "Martin" said I was in trouble for ignoring a court order to pay some fine, and that I would soon be facing a "magistrate judge, in front a grand jury and jail time if I didn't do so****ing about it fast - suggesting me to mail a payment-. He urged me to call him back at (707-674-5847)so they could "help" me. After resear****g on line I realized it's a scam. I called back and confronted the person with the accusations. I returned the call and confronted the person that answered. He was very puzzled and I asked him to stop this bad joke. I said that in this country we do not have time to play around because we need to work hard and make money to raise a family in a honest and respectable way. I asked him to find a respectable job and to help people instead of scamming them. He was puzzled and he ****ed up the phone.
Same message as others The man on the line had an Indian accent. They threatened that if I didn't cooperate, it would mean I had to appear before the magistrate judge and s grand jury.
recieved same call as others have noted below. Called the number back, phone answered immediately. ***g up. Scam. This is not the first call received. first time they told me that police were on way to take me to jail
I received a call from this number today. Some guy with a thick Indian accent stating that he was calling from the US Treasury and that I would need to appear before a magistrate judge or so****ing to that effect. I called the number and this guy (who I could barely understand) said I owed back taxes, and hadn't I l already received the notice? I told him I needed so****ing in writing.
Ok same type call-IRS tax evasion 2010. He promised me 1-2 year all expense paid vacation, with laundry provided, meals catered, calls screened, heavy secured playground, cable t.v., free medical and dental plans, chauffeured to all appointments, plus free college education. Sounds way to good to be true! Don't fall for the scam!!!!!
The man on the line had an Indian accent. They threatened that if I didn't cooperate, it would mean I had to appear before the magistrate judge and s grand jury. I tried to call back and got four rings then a busy signal.
These sleeve bags called me and said they worked fort the dept of treasury and I owed back taxes from 2010 in the amount of $5650 and if I didn't take care of it right now with them, a Warrenton would be issued for my arrest the minute we **** up the phone. I would be arrested and a lien would be placed on my house and they would tell my employer and I would probably lose my job. I had already read all comments here before I called them back (they left a threatening message). I was very sarcastic and said "so you probably want me to pay you right now, right?" Then he ***g up. I am going to report them to as many people as I can. This is crazy! I can see how scary this would be if you didn't know to look up first.
Scam! Scam! Scam!
Someone called me this morning and left a voice mail at my home. I returned the call and they said they were working with the Treasury Enforcement Division. They said I owed back taxes and that I would be arrested immediately. Total scam.
Received a call telling me it's their 2nd attempt or I'm in trouble with the IRS. Then told me it's for my daughter and they will only speak with her. Then told my daughter she has to speak with the Paralegal and when I tried to get him to tell me what this is about, he ***g up on me. How can they answer the phones as the US Treasury??? And they can barely speak English.
Some scammer claiming this is 2nd attempt to get me to respond/appear before a US Treasury Magistrate. Totally Bogus!!!!!
Just got the call, he sounds like a d***er head or sand flea.
Still running the same US Treasury scam. Reported them to the FCC. Everyone that gets this call should report them to the FCC.
Same issue. Fake US Treasury claiming to come arrest me for back taxes. When I told him I was coming to get him....he ***g up. He was dumb enough to leave two voicemails which have been emailed to the IRS Inspector Generals office for their use.
This supposed Steve Martin who barley audible English claims to be from US Treasury and claiming serious law suit action. This is a scam aimed at old folks to shake them up and extort money. I reported to my local authorities and tried to alert Vallejo Ca. police. kept getting thrown into endless voicemail or disconnected. I am in Md. and our local police told me what kind of scam they are trying to run down.
This is a scam! Contacted appropriate agency; they said it was not real.
add on to previous comment - said this was their second attempt to reach me. Which was untrue
Steve Martin (non english speaking accent) left a message that they were called from the US Treasury - enforcement action, where I would be brought to a magistrate for a Federal Criminal Offense. And that I needed to call them so that they could help me. Total scam I am sure
They called my wife, said they were from the Treasury Department, and that my wife owed more than $5000 in back taxes. Claimed that we had ignored numerous letters sent to our address and that they were issuing a warrant for her arrest. Had her all upset. And she hasn't earned a dime in more than 15 years. Definitely a scam. They should not be upsetting people like this. ****s.
Recorded message. called claiming to be named "Steve", had a foreign accent. Stated that we were in trouble with the Treasury Department and would be brought before a magistrate if we didn't call back. Total phishing scam. Alert your local authorities.
Someone with a thick non-English accent called from this number, saying they work for U S Treasury Department. Said I needed to call to help us help you.
