Jan. 18, 2008 3:30 pm (E.S.T.)Phone call from 1 712 94****** - someone female and very strange sounding. I couldn't understand what was said. Upon call back I got number has been disconnected or is no longer in service ???????? Why / how are they making these calls?

I just received a call from this number, when my answering ma****e picked up there was silence and then the caller ***g up.  I called the number back to see who would answer and received a message proceeded by a tone stating the number has been disconnected or is no longer in service!  WHAT?  Then how did someone just try calling from this number?

I just got my first call from this number.  However, I have my phone through TW Cable...and not through the regular phone company.  I know that there's a lot of phising going on, but I don't know what it is.  I am not planning on calling it back, after reading everyone's post.Who can help with this problem....does anyone know?
