I too have received three messages from this Corey Webster stating that my account was going to be debited for a payday loan. I did however apply for one over a year ago, and never received one! He has all my info. What can I do to secure my credit? I did email him back! I told him to take the time he spends on the computer, trying to scam people out of their hard earned money, and to find a job!!!!!!
I got an e-mail also, referring to a payday loan from 2009. I *had* had a payday loan, but all has been paid off for quite some time. The problem is, he has my name, drivers license #, SSN & place of work. The only silver lining is that the account he's referenced, I closed months ago. I'm not sure what to do yet, but am encouraged by what I read here.
I replied and told them their under investigation, which they are. They cannot debit from your account though you should advise your bank of the scam should they attempt to.
I can verify for you all that this is an illegal operation operating out of Southern America. Although they have several types of "business" reasons they claim "you" owe them money, it is a fraud regardless. You have rights to protect you from predators, my advice is to call their bluff and join a class action lawsuit a***nst foreign scammers such as these. But I will say, their voicemails are hilarious, and I quote, "If you do not call me back, or if I do not hear from your attorney, all I can do is wish you the best of luck to your future sufferings and god bless your doomed life." lol lol lol
I received the same email, said they would debit on 5/27/11. Did they succeed/attempt to debit your account?
I got the same message from a Corey Webster yes****ay, saying that this is the 2nd notification in regards to a payday loan from Payday Today, and that they were going to debit $750 out of an account that I had closed several months ago. Go to your bank, have them verify that this company didn't deposit money into your account, get the name of the banker who helped you, and hold that for your records. If they contact you a***n, get as much information about them as you can, their name, company name, address, when they called, how many times they called you, how long you talked to them for and what you discussed. Keep the messages on your phone and your call logs and get as much evidence you can a***nst them. Don't let them intimidate you, they are scam artists trying to scare anyone they can get money out of. I have been a victim of this for the past year, and all you can do is gather as much info as you can, keep it, and know that you are in the right, and that you have done nothing wrong. And most important, DON'T EVER give them your personal information. If they are legitimate, they would have that information already. If they do harass you, call your local police fraud division, and let them know what is going on. They might not be able to help, but they can reassure you that what they are doing is illegal. Notify your bank if they do take money out of your account and tell them it is an authorized debit because they cannot legally take money out of your account without your written authorization.Hope this helps
I received an email as well saying I owe money when I don't and then I received another email a few days later and the amount was lower than the first email. I responded to the second email saying that I don't owe the money and to either provide proof in writing or cease collections but never heard back. They also said they were going to debit my bank account but the account they have on file is not an account that I have w/the bank. They are a joke and obviously this is a scam.
I received an email from Corey. He has somehow ***ned access to my bank informaiton and said that he was going to debit my account for $890.00 on Friday 5/20/11. He identified himself as a recovery Specialist with Internet Finance Services. Can he do this? I don't own this money. Should I respond to the email?
*** i got a call from Corey and an email!! he is so ridiculous!!!!!
These are scare tactics to get you to pay a payday loan or other items. I paid mine, but before this one I had another one with another company, and they call themselves investigators of White Collar Crime Bureau a lot of times. I asked the guy twice did he work for the US Gov't and he said yes the first time and no the second, so I reported him to the FBI for lying. The FBI is the only agency that handles White Collar Crime. Don't let these people bully you, and demand the truth always!
Got a call from this guy named Corey. He's quite funny....he has you on speakerphone acting like he's a friend and then he says so****ing about an employee utility bill......employee's do NOT pay utility bills at their job....what a crock! Do NOT give them information because they are illegally practicing.
said i needed to call them
This is a Voice over IP phone number they are using, so we don't know where they are caling from. I have reported Mr. Daniels to the FTC, and they told me there was a collection scam going on. Unfortunately there is nothing they can do to stop the calls, just **** up, or not answer. And sometimes like me, I had to talk to my Human resource dept to let them know if they get a call to gsrnish wages, that just to tell them that its illegal for them to do that. here is a helpful link to have handy.http://blog.thenewstribune.com/business/2010/ ... mers/eventually they will quit, and to make yourself feel better, call your local law enforcement fraud division, they will tell you the same thing.Good Luck.
This is a collection scam. They are using illegal collection practices, and I have reported them to the FTC, that is where you need to go to do that, they will eventually catch up to them.1. NO LEGIT collection agency, will threaten you with arrest, or harass you at work.2. A LEGIT collection agency will give you notice in writing, and tell you how to contact them. This guy does none of that.3. THEY CAN NOT AND WILL NOT ARREST YOU, NOR GARNISH your wages legally, e****ally if this is from a payday loan.
So what did you do? Legally he can't tell you that.
a guy named investigator jacob daniel called me and said that either I or my attorney should call him because he has a time sensitive matter to discuss. Sounds like a debt collector!
I got a call from a Jacob Daniels saying that I was going to end up in jail if I didn't pay.
