I didn't answer the call. Prior to receiving it, I had reached out to someone on Craigslist regarding a room, only to discover it was a scam. The Craigslist number was 310-924-6798, which appears to be ***ociated with escort services in Los Angeles. I recently got a new phone number and never encountered scam calls before, so I suspect they are related.

Call comes in as a 'Collect call from Fernando in the Substance Abuse center of Cochran Correctional facility". Fernando, asked to talk to an individual, we told him that person is unavailable, how can we help? He said he had a question but would not tell us the question. He called 8 times last week and about 14 times today before we took the call and told him to stop calling here and hung up.

No message was left. The caller ID came back as California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Norco Conservation Camp #0. The area code says Houston, Texas. We are a volunteer Search and Rescue organisation. We work with a number of local, state and federal organisations. Call came in before anyone could answer. No message left.

this number is legit. it's a prison number for California I receive calls on this number from my loved ones. it's legit. if you get a call it has to be someone who has your number trying to contact

I didn't answer. I don't currently know anyone in prison. I've recently had fraud activity to my bank card in CA and I live in MT. Someone tried to buy a date through an escort service in CA using my bank card information and then tried to buy various bank cards, hundreds of dollars worth for both. When my bank stopped the charges, I started getting these phone calls.

GTL is faking that a prisoner is calling you but it is them just trying to change you for no one calling you! SCAM.!!! My friend was in prison and when he called, I could CLEARLY him saying, to accept the call and he said his name. That is all they would allow. This GTL Company must be hurting for money. Once you accept, you won't get your money back. GTL is scamming now!!!

The recording says it's a collect call from a prison in CA and the inmate's name is mumbled so you can't really hear it and the last name sounds like Williams. I don't know anyone with that last name or who is still living in that state or anyone who is in prison, so it's just inmates trying to get my credit card info or a jailhouse jingles scam.

I received 4 calls on Sunday June 6 from this number. Because I was driving and didn't recognize the number I declined each call. When I got home there were 4 messages all of them automated stating that an inmate from a correctional facility was trying to contact me. The inmate's name was not provided.

It's the phone number for the institution for men chino State prison but it's weird because the phone number is owned by some strip club promoter I think that's really weird

It said it was a call from a prison in texas. It was a free call so we accepted. The person on the other side said his name was trigger, he called my girls number and asked her who she was and then proceeded to act like he new her she kept asking were he got her number but kept avoiding the question and then asked her were here boy _____ was and thats my name. I dont know a trigger in a prison in texas. The phone number comes out to be registered to a G. Houston . My question is does the prison use random telemarketing numbers when allowing those free first arrive at a prison phone calls?

Sounds like a prison/correctional facility call. I don't know anyone who's incarcerated, in TX, CA, or any other state. Other people have said it's just a scam to get your credit card info, probably true.

Oh i know this number all too well, yup its coming from a Cali prison. Global Tel Link. It wont charge you unless you add a card when it promps thats if you know the person you should be able to hear a recording of their name . If you dont know who it is just hang up you wont be charged.

It's not a spam call it a new system that the prisons use for inmates to call people . You pay global tel link (who are located in a different state) and the inmates are allowed to call without being collect. Even though you still pay for the calls , it's actually cheaper than it being collect. Hope this helps

It is from CA State Prisons. Probably an inmate. The reason it comes from Houston, TX number is because that's where the company is that the CA prisons contract for their collect calls.

Well 713 is a Texas area code but when I answered it, it was a collect call from a loved one in CMC State Prison in San Luis Obispo, CA. Idk how the call came from Texas. Hope it doesn't run up my bill. :/
