It's not spam, it's someone from jail trying to get a hold of you problem is after you give your CC number and they charge your account it takes a while before someone comes on the phone and in the meantime they are deducting $$ from you account. I know my son was trying to call and I put $25 and waited 12 minutes and still no son came on the phone. I ***g up and called the 877 number on my bank statement and checked my balance it was down to $15.00 and some c****e. I didn't get to speak to him at all

wow people aren't as smart as i give them credit. it's neither a scam or spam. it's global tel link a correct call company based in Texas but provides services to many states. they provide collect calls from jail or prison. so it doesn't mean that the call is necessarily coming from Texas it can be any state the company as a contract with. hope that clears it up for everyone.

this is NOT a scam. it may be a rip off, but its its really, truly, honestly the number of global tel co or whatever, the company some jails use for inmate calls. you have to set up a pre paid account to accept calls on your cell phone.

They call and give you BS information and forward your number to this number 323-849-5***. They say someone is in jail. These ppl making ****** comments like this is real are most likely the spammers that are calling because they are low lives themselves.

if u listen to the message it normally tells u who is calling u from the jail, but u have to answer it to find out who is calling because it wont show up on voicemail, my bf is in jail so I get the calls all the time

I keep recieveing collect calls and out of all day i answered today. I got tired of hearing "Family Emergency", however the guy said he was an officer and can only give me the persons booking number and a place to call to get more information which is (*721-323-347-8148). Why would they not be able to give me ther persons name right off the bat and why are they calling collect. From what i can a jail staff member calls when someone is incacerated or your friend or family memeber does.

This number is a nation wide number used from Correctional ins***utions, where inmates try to call out. Its a collect call, and should only work if you have set up an account on your credit card.

I have received at least 10 calls from this # at all times of the day and night. I am elderly and this scares me. My sister was scamed by the Grandmother call saying her grandson need $5000 and to send it to a Wal-Mart in Ca***a. I may be old, but I am not ****** and I have contacted the Denver Detention Center and given them this number.Who ever you are you should get a life. I am glad I am not the one who will have to answear to a higher power about this scam.
