Text received Nov. 12, 2010 from number 7143996873. "Eliminate up to 90 percent of your debt today - Really! Text Yes if you would like to know more. TXT No to opt out or Email your # to [email protected] -Survey" Even though it seems like they have my cell number already, I do not give out any of my information to anyone I don't know. This seems like phishing to me. My next plan is to call my cell phone service provider to see if they can block the number. This makes me so mad. It's one thing to phish via email, but quite another to phish via phone text.

Received a text from number (714) 399-6873 that reads as follows: "Eliminate up to 90 percent of your debt today - Really! Text Yes if you would like to know more. TXT No to opt out or Email your # to [email protected] -Survey" I was advised not to respond as it may be a possible fishing scam which seeks active cell numbers through any responses returned. The unknown company will likely sell your cell number to other ad companies, then you may get flooded with more unsolicited texts! And if you don't have an unlimited text plan, it will cost you a lot! So just ignore the texts. I hears Verizon and AT&T may be able to block these numbers from ever contacting you a***n. Just call Customer Service and ask. Best of luck in getting rid of these scanners!
